NOTES:
CC for  :light :D

I had a few permutations with more strings attached, like Butterfly effect, but I find simple is best.

In case it wasn't clear, the target creature can only attack creatures after this card is played, and not the enemy players. It's target would be chosen randomly, and as such I think this card would work on immortal creatures, but not burrowed creatures. (Nevermind, Lets leave Immortal  creatures alone)
It's tempting to use this on a high attack card, but then that high attack card would be unavailable to damage the enemy player. That is I think enough of a drawback, but cost needs a little bit of work I think.
You could use this card on an enemy creature to stop it from attacking you, but beware it will start attacking your own creatures! (that may be desirable  ;))

But then I think it becomes too good! :D
Then you get a hit squad that not only shuts down your opponents creature cards, but then is able to add its damage to your total attack.

Which would put this card at a much higher cost, I think. I've sort of avoided suggesting high cost cards, but I suppose this is a good candidate for one.

Duel implies something gentlemanly, like a chivalrous duel. I just connected knightly chivalry with Light, since Light is sort of associated with heavenly bodies, as was honor and chivalry.

And mechanically Light doesn't have much in the way of direct creature control, and I thought a dueling creature would be a neat way for it to get a bit. I changed it to a spell to make it more interesting, now its up to the owner to decide which creature to sacrifice for creature control, how powerful it is versus how much damage you need versus your opponent. It's also random so you must weigh the benefits against the fact that it might not kill the creature that most threatens you.

CURATOR COMMENT
-Fix the COST for the upgraded card's table (it should read '3 :light' not '4 :light' compared to the image)
-Leave the ATK|HP section of the table blank if the card is not a creature
-Add a '.' or period at the end of the card's TEXT in the table to match the punctuation in the image.

Nice explanation. :)

The thing I realize with Duel is that, coupled with Adrenaline, one small little critter or creature (say Horned Frog or Maxwell Demon) could take down Dragons and Golems quite easily. Although it's unlikely that they'll attack the same creature multiple times, it would not only give :light a theoretical CC card, but also strengthen the synergy between :life and :light as well. However, the idea of it attacking immaterial creatures but not burrowed creatures doesn't quite make much sense to me...

Alright, I dropped the idea they can take out immortal creatures. I also decided on another minor element. I don't like it because it makes the card more complex, but I think it really adds to the card rather than make it obtuse.

Thanks for the input. :D

Use it on opponent's creatures.
Play Immortals/Phase Dragons/Archangels/Quintessence/Burrowed Anything.
? ? ?
Profit!

Prefer Archangels myself, especially with creatures with an attack < 7.

Yeah! I dont think thats broken though, I mean its not terribly different from packing Antimatter, at least then the enemy creatures heal you. Even worse, they attack your own, so quintessence or immortal creatures become a requirement. I think that is just an interesting tactic, but not a huge game changer.

Speaking of AM, couldn't you play Duel on the opponent's creatures, and AM it? Then you'd finally have another creature healer.
Perception is the source of misunderstanding.

Why, yes. I do have a Mindgate necklace. It's how I ninja everyone.

So i think the card art is great on this card and all but I think it needs a  little work. I think that this ability makes any creature card just a little too powerful. So I play this duel on my  own 12 | 12 dragon, now  i start dealing 12 damage one by one to each and everyone one of your  creatures.  And  now  you  have to  wait  12  turns  to  play  creatures  so  that the  attack  goes to 0 or else I'll murder your  creatures. Or  if I play this card on your dragon, then you start demolishing my creatures and there really is no point on playing this card on a creature with >5 attack.

I think that this card adds a lot of synergy to :light and :life but also to :light and :fire because you could then use rage potions on creatures to lower their life and then go and kill the creature.

I think this card should be more like something involving gravity pull. Like "This creature and This creature may only attack each other before attacking the opponents life or something. Or possible "Target creature and Target creature gain +100 life but may only attack each other, only until after that creature dies may the living creature attack your opponents life. Maybe you have a different idea on how you wanted me to perceive this card but personally I think it wouldn't hurt it to have just a few tweaks.

Good luck in the rest of the voting stages!
