Meh, I don't think that it is enough unlike Bone Shield to count as a new card.  It just lost the death effects, which is a property of :death, and gained the ability to block spells, which :light has.

This thing seemed dead inside. It seemed like an automaton, trying to act like as if it was alive. The effect was unsettling.
Orianna made a sound that supposed to a girl's squeal of glee and hugged The Ball. While it might have been touching, it was unfortunately only horrifying.

I'd raise both costs by 1, but aside from that, I think it's good.  Just a few nitpicky things.

1.  Shield | Protection .  Capitalization is necessary.
2.  As this is producing another card, add the produced shield and make this a Spell.
3.  How would this interact with Bolts?

This isn't a shield, and doesn't this way overshadow bonewall? Sure, bonewall is powerful with constant death generators, but the price for this is just over half the price of bonewall, and has way more counters.

3. I saw somewhere that bolts were treated as grouped with bolts from the same spell.
