ART:

IDEA:

NOTES:
A "secret target" means that the opponent doesn't get to know what was targetted. They do get to know that this card was used, but not on what it was actually used. This is a little bit inversed-entropy: instead of making the user of the card suffer from randomness, the enemy will suffer randomness instead.

This also adds a little mind game: you could target something important from the enemy to make them unable to use it. But the enemy may suspect you were targetting that and therefore stop using it's ability to avoid damage and allowing it to keep attacking you. You could also target something completely unimportant to make the enemy not suspecting it and suffering those 20 damage - but you didn't do any harm to the more important things on his board. Or the opponent could suspect you did only want him to recieve that damage... It can also be used to scare the opponent of using abilities at all. Or the opponent could simply decide to just take that damage and use whichever skill he wants...

Sum up & details:
+ "lobotomized" means that the target loses it's ability (just like the Lobotomizer (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,1992.0.html));
+ The opponent does get to know the card was used;
+ The opponent doesn't get to know on what it was used;
+ The opponent does (oviously) get to know when he tries to use a skill of something unstable;
+ This can target creatures and pernaments;
+ This doesn't trigger when a passive (eg. airborne) or automatically occurring ability (eg. "Inficts 1 poison damage on succesful attack") is used;
+ If parralel universed, the clone will be instable too;
+ If mutated or evolved, the new creature will be unstable;
+ If the ability of the creature changes, the new ability will still be unstable;
+ If instability has triggered, and the target recieves a new skill, it will still be unstable;
+ "instead" implies that the ability won't actually be used, however, the opponent will still have to pay quanta for the ability (like using the ability and then canceling it).
SERIES:
I'm wondering if this should really be in entropy. It fits the entropy element, but entropy already has Antimatter, making entropy capable of both killing attacking creatures and skill creatures. I've been thinking about making it darkness instead ("Cursed Magic"), being stealthy and stuff. However, I think it justs fits entropy more to give it more randomness and fun. Darkness already has liquid shadow to destroy skills from creatures anyway (entropy could use Butterfly Effect, but that applies to very few creatures). Also, there is already a great entropy-darkness synergy anyway, so it wouldn't be that hard to create a duo if you want to use both Antimatter and Unstable Power.

Changes:
# Now lobotomizes instead of destroying. Cost reduced by two.

I see many a tale where this is used on your OWN permanent, so that when you activate it, your Mirror Shield kills your opponent. Such will be good times indeed.

Considering the fact that it's basically an insta-kill/explosion, I would say that if you took the insta-kill part out, you wouldn't have to worry about the drama coming up when the critiquers get here, and even reduce cost by about 2.
Perception is the source of misunderstanding.

How about limiting it to creatures?

Not what I was going for. Insta-kill is looked down upon in this forum. I was thinking more like it only targets permanents.

Well, looks like there are more people (besides me) who think it shouldn't instant-kill. The point is that this game is having lost of cards that cause severe harm to creatures no matter it's HP already anyway:

+ Freeze;
+ Shockwave&Freeze;
+ Reverse Time;
+ Antimatter;
+ Anything that lobotomizes;
+ Bassilisk blood;
+ Flooding.

None of those have any respect for what HP the creature has whatsoever, and they're still being accepted.

Anyway, this card doesn't instakill anymore but lobotomizes instead. Happy?

Typo: Table has not been updated to match Card Image.

Neat idea. Well thought out.

PS: An unstable creature cannot be evolved or hatch.
(Although Graboid cannot be targeted so evolve is never activated by an unstable creature)

I think that 5 :entropy|4 :entropy +/- :entropy seems like a fair guess at balance.

Play Skeleton/Mummy -> Unstable Power -> Reverse Time

Looks like it just hatched/evolved. (note: passive skills don't trigger this card)

Fixed the table by the way (for as far as I could see it was off; only the quanta cost seemed to not match).
