Wouldn't this make more sense as a permanent with counters (3)?

i considered that, but then i thought it would be more effective as a spell, plus its a different idea rather than to turn it into a permanent, but maybe i should create a poll to determine whats best to everyone else.

If it were a permanent, would it continuously damage new characters as they came in? I'm a tad torn about this spell, though. On one hand, mono-Aether and mono-Darkness together has as many CC cards as mono-Air on its own and so needs a couple more, I'm questioning if Fractal-Devourer needs anymore help?

Yes, that's exactly what it would do. But remember, incoming creatures wouldn't take the full blast of the Permanent form of the card. This could be a very cheap card to be used against :fire and :entropy.. Also, seems more like this should be in a series. It's a tad bit cheap to single out two elements, :aether and :darkness in this case. I'd vote for it if the card damaged anything out of a mono-range. But not like this.

I wouldn't say that dark matter is :aether. Although it is in outer space, it is more of a byproduct of electromagnetic radiation from the Big Bang, creating a gravitational force that is strong enough to bend light. So I would say that it is more of  :gravity instead of  :aether.

After a slightly more than cursory glance at some reading materials on dark matter and associated theories, I'm gonna agree with Anon that it may be better suited with gravity than aether.

Kind of ironic how this card affects dark matter because it is only termed that way, in fact, dark matter can end up near a celestial body of stars.

thus your saying that it also would include  :light into the mechanic?  :o this card that i made reminds me of a series called quantum mechanics, where there were lots of elements being benefited by a single card of the series.  :)

And a light can shine right next to a shadow. It's really no more relevant than the fact that it's named dark matter because it's completely invisible. Probably less.

I'd personally set it as grav and aether. They seem most appropriate to me.
