Um, gruesome picture Essence? Maybe too gruesome for the Elements environment.

Quite cool that a spell is upgraded into a creature however. That's a new one.

It upgrade into a creature?  hmmm


the Ghoul stats seem a bit too strong for its cost, not to mention its ability.

I like the spell... could have interesting synergy if there are more Death benefit or effects in the future.
But might make it cost 1 :death, and only turn the targeted creature. 


Or taken the idea from another source... make it cost 4 :death but not only  make it turn into death, but make its ability cost turn into :death as well.

Well, compare it to Elite Antlion...
This has one less attack, but a pretty insane ability when coupled with Nightfall/Eclipse.

In fact, that -1 attack is actually helpful in the situation of Adrenaline, which goes well with the card anyways due to it's passive ability. It would enable you to make your entire field Death creatures in 3 turns of Adrenaline. Put together with Aflatoxin (Same element, and also benefits from Adrenaline) and a  :darkness mark, you can turn your entire field into a bunch of 3/2 replicating attackers, which, while being similar to what FFQ can do, takes much less time than any other Fractal, Scsrab, or FFQ setup.

Sine you're pairing Life anyways, Feral Bonds...

The ability looks insane, but really, it's only 2 creatures per turn, they're random creatures, and you're already playing a trio deck if you're playing :darkness for Eclipse, :death for Necrotic Ghoul, and :life for all that other stuff.  That's not a fast or stable deck, period.

agreed on the gruesome point-elements needs crossover between spell permanenets and creatures when it comes to upgrading though.

When comparing creature and costs, it's best to compare it with monsters of it's own element, as creatures in different elements are not made fairly, it appears.

3/4 for 2  :death.
Mummy is 5/3 for 3  :death.
Flesh Recluse is 6/3 for 3  :death.

Let's say the ability would equal to it's stats +1/+1, so 4/5 for 2  :death.

4/5 would be kind of equal to flesh recluse if the stats were switched around, but stats can't really compare with abilities.
I do think that it should cost 3  :death, but if you're too lazy busy to change the card, I understand.
