1. Cardinal can't be both fractal'd and immune from CC.
2. To balance it, your opponent should be able to pay for all cards/abilities as if they were random-cost ... it's the least the user could do, depriving the non-aether opponent's draw with phase shields and all

I think this idea is kind of.. weird. Not only is the ability a bit strange and complex, but the fact that is has this Cardinal Affinity, takes the complexity to a whole new level. This is like 3 different cards in one.

I also don't understand the theme. How is that small bird related to the ability? Well, I guess we could call it a "magical bird", but I still kind of like when the theme makes more sense.

The theme is a pun.
The other 2 will be done in a similar manner.

Copying cards, Biased randomness, Moving cards, and Rules make up the major theme of the cardinal elements IMHO.

Will the first version be remade as a separate card? I liked that one the most.

If your mark's  will Cardinal get Immaterialty when you play it or when your turn ends?
That last one can make fractal possible
