I agree that a cost reduction wouldn't hurt, that may be another avenue for cross synergy (costs one less if your mark is the right type).
--E.g. make air with cost reduction of 1 if your mark is water or keep water with a cost reduction of 1 if your mark is air.

A cost drop of a -card- based on your mark? That's a new and intriguing mechanic.

if you dont want panda to hit you, use its upped version, otherwise letting yourself getting hit by it will only be good while using dolls or all your creatures being immaterial to avoid it alltogether

That's still quite a good synergy - I've got an unupped Phoenix/Pandemonium that works quite well thanks to Phoenix's resilience to CC, even though they're not immune to it. This would work well in a similar manner.
