Meant as a 'capstone' for the cardinal element. The unupgraded version should have several obvious synnergies (mindgate, fractal, SoSe bows, GoTP mare, etc.) The upgrade level of cards created will match the upgrade level of the discarded card (unupped) or the pillar / tower / pendulum sacrificed (upped). The upgraded and unupgraded versions perform roughly opposite functions, but when both are included in the same deck they synnergy well with each other as well (this is a core theme of this miniseries). In addition to the obvious synnergy with mindgate, I went with pillar production because none of the cardinal elements have a means to produce quanta for themselves outside of pillars. All other elements do have at least one card to do so: Spoiler for examples: - immolate and brimstone eater - gnome rider - dryspell - dragonfly - rustler - soul catcher - devourer - rol, luciferin This creature will, therefore, provide a unique quanta ramp ability for the cardinal elements. the only card i can see with viable synergies to this card is nightmare.
the others, like say, fractal, are you really going to discard YOUR fractalled cards to give this card a boost, in favour of say, summoning a bunch of fractalled RoL's for a RoL Hope?

Mindgate synnergy seems useful as well.
I would definitely consider discarding a random card I just got from my opponent in the hopes of being able to play things I get on later turns.

As for fractal... yes, if I had several construction drones out at once, it could be well worth the investment. Is it worth discarding 1 scarab to get back several time towers / pendulums?
With only 1 drone in play it may not be worth it but with several in play this is providing card advantage.
Moreover, this allows fractal to be used to copy the OPPONENT's creatures. You just discard one of them to get the pillars you need to play the rest.

With that in mind, have a look at the cross synergy between the upped and unupped. You essentially get an unlimited (albeit somewhat random) spell source.

Also, it not only synergies with nightmare, it also helps provide a soft counter as well.
Outside of GoTP, simply discarding 1 nightmared creature could yield the quanta source needed to play the rest.
That would make the opponent think twice about what the decide to nightmare to your hand.

There is also SoSe synnergy. Basically, you use SoSe to fill your hand and discard the least useful card. It then provides several pillars which can later be sacrificed to create spells.

Lastly, there is synergy with NT... Just like this provides an unlimited spell source, it would also provide an unlimited pillar source. Which could be very useful there.

Cool idea, one issue though somewhat minor (perhaps not really an issue)
 is that the unupped and upped feel like two different cards as I assume you want both to be synergetic with each other.

The other issue is the cost relative to its stats and ability.
I think unupped is ok though the upped version seems too cheap for its potential and stats:

- It can resist cheap/weak cc cards like thunder storm or dry spell and such with its decent hp
- as long as it is on field it can slowly cut off quanta production of opponent despite handing them free spells, especially if you have multiple on field.
- Has growth from second point ^

Otherwise idea is very interesting

I use Hexagon, Bryce7, and GIMP to make the art.
Hexagon to make the 3D models
Bryce7 to render them
GIMP to do any extra graphical effects.

Hmm... I made the upped versions stats based on micro abomination, which is a 2|4 for 1 .. I can drop the hp a little I suppose.
I can certainly drop the stats or raise the cost slightly.

Also. Note that the mechanic requires you to 'sacrifice' a pillar. This means you can only target your own pillars, not the opponents.
My original idea was to have it able to do either but, as you noted, this seemed a little too strong.

I love how the best synergy this card has is with it's upped version...
Also, not a huge fan of that mark picture.  Gonna have to see if I still have the vector assets lying around from when I undertook the duo and trio projects and build something better.
I really like the idea of a card that activates upon discarding (submitted one to the current competition) but I don't know how well it would work in practice since it doesn't happen all that often.
