a reflective or emerald shield that you couldn't steal in the first place still has you up a tree. If you can't steal it in the first place you're not going to be able to do anything with it after the fact.
If the shield is really blocking all your damage than it's probably either:
Emerald/Jade Shield against Devourer/Pest swarm: extra quanta allows you to fractal Dragons.Hope: potential to shut down all damage but from Siphon Life.
Other shield protected with enchant artifact are not reflective and can be dealt with either way.
