That's what I think the effect should be for both cards. As is it's just RT coloured black. Not very creative or interesting, but since I like the idea of fear, why not introduce a new mechanic?

Enemy creatures on the field when this card is played take twice as much damage from CC or something?

Huh, that's a very powerful card idea! I could imagine being stunned for 2 turns instead of being RT-d, in the case of the upgraded one.
