I actually love this weapon, it's very unique in itself.
I have a few concerns though...
Does it turn into the phoenix version of ash? I believe it should honestly, a weapon that turns into ash and then into a phoenix is incredibly cool.
Secondly, there is an issue with the fact that phoenix in it's upgraded form is less powerful, it is an intention of deisgn, but may not be a good thing here. You need to figure out exactly what you want to do there.
Lastly, if this does in fact turn into a phoenix eventually, then combustion isn't really the best name, this is minor, but should be thought over.

However if the first condition is false and this is a unique type of ash that is rebirthed into the sword again, then I feel this card loses some of it's value.

1) yes, it does turn into a poenix ash.
2) the upgraded version will still leave an unupgraded ash when its destroyed.
3) the reasoning for the name combustion is the idea of when itself is destroyed it will explode in a, say, spontaneous combustion leaving beind a pile of ash (though it does not however explain the reasoning of a phoenix rising from it). Anyway, name suggestions are welcome.  :P

Love it. Love the mechanic, love the art. Only don't like the name, but not sure what to call it.

Definitely love the card art and concept... I agree with Vedanna about the name though, combustion seems a little out of place... I think of setting other things on fire when I hear that word, not so much something that burns and is reignited.

Meant to point that out, weapons by nature have a realitvely low cost.
You can at LEAST do -1 cost for each.

5 isn't horrible though, since both titan and morning star have the same cost to damage ratio. This one may not be immaterial but it is quite hard to kill.
Still, 1 pt more damage or 1 pt less cost wouldn't hurt I think.

Btw, does this also turn into an ash when replaced by another weapon?
If yes, I would be a bit concerned about balancing, since you could just play one these after another and get more and more phoenixes for only 6 :fire (5 :fire for the weapon + 1 :fire to rebirth the ash).

*Maybe* -1 cost for both, since Titan seems slightly more powerful.
