It's true that Fire has more ways to produce quanta.  But there are still 11 other elements to consider other than Fire!  Maybe Farenheit can break through, but what about other elements that don't have a weapon like Farenheit, growth creatures, or momentum?

Not everyone uses rush decks, but for anyone that does, this card will most likely stop them cold. The difference between this and Purify for Poison decks for example is that you will have almost no way to deal damage anymore.  Purify may reset the poison counter, but poison decks can continue by adding more poison.  The rush decks that will be hindered by this shield probably won't have spells that can penetrate this shield and 1HKO the opponent.

Rush decks don't do that great against an RoL/Hope either once the Hope gets rolling.

RoL/Hope is counterable by AoE CC like Rain of Fire and Thunderstorm. Does this card have counters?
Since this card relies on quantum, you could use PC or denial.
Packing Quicksands or Explosions in a deck doesn't cost that much.
If you want to deal with PC you could also run Protect Artifact, which then strengthens the  :earth / :water synergy.

It does great against some decks and not so great against others like Hope, and has a potential weakness.

I think Oldtrees opinion is needed on this.

This is far more powerful than Flooding, which has a quantum drain.

It's too late for me to do it, but a turn-by-turn breakdown of how high the DR can get would be in order here... a quantum drain could then be added if needed to slow things down.

Interesting idea for balancing. I think that is a good way to balance the card which seems to be on the OP side at the moment.

Like Johann said when posting on a card of mine, there is much more cc available in the game that is varied through out many elements whereas, pc is limited.

Also mass cc is not at the moment counterable while permanents have protect artifact.

Also hope shield has the downside of filling up your creature spaces limiting the amount of damage done.

I dont think you can really say that this card isnt OP because of RoL/Hope. They are too different

The upkeep doesn't seem like much. if you are trying to build your water quanta in the first place to strengthen the shield I don't see 1 quanta being too big of a deal. Although (/6 )~=(/5+quanta drain)i feel the multiplier has to be bigger.

Shields I feel have a bigger problem being OP because they reduce from every creature(they defend multiple times), while creatures/ weapons can be stronger because they only attack once.

TBH I felt the closest comparision I could have with this card was RoL/Hope and Farenheit, but as shown by the stuff going on here this card is pretty unique for what it does.

I'm not sure if I should the increase the divider or the upkeep though. Is the card still somewhat OP?

Sorry reading that over, I feel like I was a little harsh. Very unique idea and I like it. This I do think is a little OP but all in all only RL testing can tell. I think the upkeep aspect is a little counterproductive, so /6 would make more sense and simpler. Either way I voted for it

It's okay, I always appreciate constructive criticism. :D

As johann stated earlier draining slows the defense down a bit, but as this card gets higher up I definitley will rework the effect. For now, I will wait for more opinions.

How about a pyramid-number system for diminishing returns?  1 DR at 10 :water, 2DR at 30, 3DR at 60, etc., increasing by 10 more each time.  You could reduce the increment if that seems like overkill.

It's an interesting idea(5-6 for base should work), but how would I describe that on the card?
