The destructiveness here is represented by damage done to the owner's own creatures. The lightning is a 1 damage bolt. The owner's creatures will not be harmed if they have a cloak. Considering Lobotomizer, is the cost really justified?  Perhaps it could be lower?

I wanted something that would give more offense than lobo, but be able to be used elsewhere as well. This card pairs up nicely with phase dragon and immortals, and can even be used in aether/earth or aether/gravity decks due to the high hp of those creatures. Even aether/darkness becomes an option because of cloak.
lobo is 3 for 5 damage
this is 2 for 6 damage

I think the cost is fine.

It's not just good for mono-aether, but death effects as well. As for the cost, it seems fine to me considering the lightning.

Question about wording: Why say "at the end of every turn" instead of just "every turn"?

Because all weapons say "deal X damage at the end of your turn"

What I'm reading is that Caladbolg will cast a pseudo-thunderstorm on your side of the field.  In that case, shouldn't cloak be nullified?
Or am i jumping to conclusions by assuming that a mass 1-hp lightning is a thunderstorm?

Even playing MA, I'd take lobo over caladbolg since lobo can stop momentum, steal/destroy mutants, and BE

this mini thunderstorm will not remove cloak. Cloak will protect against it, letting it have some kind of synergy with that.

@justaburd
some players prefer a faster and just pure offensive stance in MA. BE and steal/destroy mutants aren't that common, and momentum isn't that common either. It's meant to synergize with quint, immortals, and perhaps bonewall.

^Definitely. That was the first thing that popped into my head after reading this actually. Could be quite devastating.
Maybe also add in animate weapons and quint -> 2 - 4 of these quinted + ~5 or so voodoo dolls = 10-20 damage a round! That would end things pretty fast.
