I'm in the process of finding suitable background art for Talos
IDEA:
Werdbooty (at the request of my friend, Darren)
NOTES:
Passive Abilities: Affinity: :earth (gains +0|+2 if your Mark is Earth)
Mono-Earth, really. Protects your permanents. Enchant Artifact in creature form.
Apparently there was another card called Terrasque that also used Protect Artifact as an ability. Kuro, our friendly card curator has asked that I link that card (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,5478.msg61632#msg61632) here. I'd like to state up front that Talos was not inspired by this card. Protect Artifact on a creature is just one of those ideas I think everybody has had at one point or another.
BACKGROUND:
"Talos" Wiki Article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talos)
Talos was a giant bronze man who patrolled the Island of Crete and guarded it from marauders by pelting rocks at incoming navies. Also said to be the personification of Crete, the Greeks believed Talos was formed in the image of a great bronze bull. I've tried to represent both aspects of the myth here.
Once again I've used the Affinity mechanic, but it's not really necessary.

So, PA on a stick... I always waited for that idea to come out.
I think no creature should grow that much when upgraded, it nearly changes the idea of the card. But I guess I may be wrong, since it's just my very personal opinion.

Apart form that (and leaving balance to the experts), I like the idea, how it sounds and all the stuff around it :D
Great card.

Mine is different though, so better get onto it now, but do like this idea :)

I like all these cards that have affinity, and we needed a PA on a stick.

Talos trades protecting from spells for more attack?

Talos trades protecting from spells for more attack?
This would be more appropriate thematically (he is still just a bull). It would also make for a nice vanilla upgrade. Any suggestions on stats?

I was commenting on what the skills currently say. Is this meant to be?

Oh wow. That took me a couple of minutes. No, it wasn't meant to be. I think the issue is I was looking at Enchant Artifact while creating the cards. Oddly, if you follow the wording in the wiki, you should be able to Steal a protected artifact. I'm not too sure how it works, exactly. I assumed it was supposed to read as protection from any spell or ability and attempted to rectify that. Apparently I forgot what I was doing while creating Talos :P

Um, er...why yes, it was intentional...heh...

So:
Unupped
1(attack)+0(0<hp<6)-1(activation cost of 2-3)+X(Skill X)=X :earth
Upgraded
7(attack)+2(7<hp<9)-1(activation cost of 2-3)-1(upgrade)+Y(Skill Y)=7+Y :earth

Considering the difference between X and Y
Only X
Frozen + Shockwave
Steal
Deflag
Both X and Y
Butterfly Effect
Mutation

Currently
X=4
Y=1

This seems to fit. However this excludes Affinity from the equation. I do not know how best to judge affinity. However I assume that it would be worth between 0 and 2 quanta.

Well, how did you balance the weapons that have affinity?

Weapons do not have affinity. They have +1 max. (which means they are only used when the +1 will be active)

It wouldn't be hard to readjust Affinity on a creature to match the weapons. "If your mark is Earth, this creature gets +1|+1."

Hell, each Element could even have its own type of Affinity. +2|+0, +1|+1, +0|+2...you get the idea.
