This card would be very good in combination with Miracles...

Another problem with it though is in order to be able to draw 4 cards as it is currently, you'd have to have 4 or less cards in your hand first.

I'm questioning whether those in objection to its current form understand the potential of the 3 card advantage it gives?

Dropping an extra 3 Pests, Vampires, Adrenaline Frog, Dragons, or even just towers, and your 3 turns ahead of your opponent. The loss of even 50 health that can easily be recovered is an appropriate offset so it cannot be used freely, but in the appropriate deck the advantage is worth playing it.

So you spend 50 life to dig for an on color weapon that heals you, a vampire, and maybe a siphon life to get you back to where you were? It being in darkness where recovering life is easy seems to almost completely negate the drawback.

This card is NOT underpowered in any way.  In the early game, you have time to recover the life lost, while in the late game you should have enough defenses set up to not get koed because you used this.  Great idea imo.

Yeah, I was just making the point that its silly to call this a UP card, as some have previously done.  Weather or not it's OP is a different question.  I'd think its fairly balanced, but like any card it would need to actually be implemented in the trainer to say one way or the other.

The sign of darkness bonus makes is OPing. four cards IS a lot and less than thirty health seems too small, especially for an elements that's all about stealing health. Maybe you could increase the quanta cost, as thatd give an advantage to those with a darkness mark in itself.

Otherwise I think this card is well-balanced and a thought provoking play

You'd probably want to aim this card middle-late game as you'd have the quanta to stack monsters by then and still have hp to last a few rounds.
So you'd realistically be losing about 40 hp at most, which would translate to about 2-3 free turns of damage from your opponent, but four free turns for you.

Every time you play this card, you'd have to consider whether the hp loss is worth the possible four cards you could draw

anon are you just posting the first thing that comes into your head in every thread in order to boost your post count?  that's answered in the card itself "Draw 4 Cards. Lose half your current HP rounded down."
