NAME:
Air Sage
ELEMENT:
Air
COST:

NOTES:
A delayed stack of pillars only has the top pillar delayed - in other words a delayed pillar stack only produces 1 less quantum.  As long as there is a Fog Shield, Air Sage will regain invisibility at the end of every turn.

Air, free as the wind.
Shifting independently.
Take flight again, birds.

Sage series huh? Cool

I like how it works in sync with Fog Shield, and the skill is also pretty creative.

interesting, but a gust of wind could do several things.
1 push object back = delay
2 push object forward = mini accelerate
3 move object location = change field position
4 blow object out of play = put target back into hand or deck

I went with the delay effect because Air lacks PC and wind can be very fierce at times, possbily even destroying buildings (e.g. Hurricanes and Tornadoes).  Also it's current ability allows it to work in a mono.

Bump for additional feedback.

I think it's great just as it is except for one thing... It's low-cost, but other low-cost creatures have spammable abilities (Mind Flayer, Parasite, Graviton Fire Eater, Chrysaora, Forest Spirit) but they're usually from a different element.

What about making the delay effect take one quantum from the Time element?

Generally, cards that attempt to have multi-element costs will be tricky to code (see my Duality series for an example of what was done to get around this.)

Gameplay-wise, I am planning for the Sages to be mono-element. There are other cards that are mono elements and have spammable abilities (Vanadium Warden and Arctic Squid), so I don't think this will be a problem.

Also in comparison to Explosion and Steal, this is less effective, but has the benefit of being on a stick.  It's also relatively cheap to play and use.

As for thematically, think of the Delay effect as being the result of the Air Sage channeling the winds to delay permanents (sort of like a windstorm - it slightly damages things but normally doesn't obliterate them like a volcano would).  However, like a tornado, it's unpredictable, which gives the Air Sage little control over what Permanents are delayed.

By 'random permanent', does this also imply that the permanent can be on your side? O_o (Imagines Fog Shield being disabled while keeping Air Adept invisible)

A different idea would be that Tornado actually delays a single permanent for a -longer- period of time, in the sense that if a permanent is trapped within the funneling storm, it's obviously going to take longer for the elemental to use that permanent again. I like the concept of you relying on 'other' cards for that added invisibility effect (until it's broken by AOE CC). ;)

Oops, I meant for this card to delay your opponent's permanents only. >.>  I'll get to fixing that.
