EX: Graboid=Grab+oid. Pegasus=Peg+asi so name= either Grabasi or Pegoid. Here is a list of name halves. BEFORE YOU SCREAM YU-GI-OH, I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT I HAVE HAD THIS IDEA FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND ONLY NOW LEARNED OF FUSION "WHATEVER" FROM YU-GI-OH.

No we won't scream some other game but the idea has been put forward before. I will look for the thread for you.

It is a great idea. Just one thing what do the combined become? FOr instance if two creatures have a different ability does the new one have both, none or a random of the two. Does it stay the same type of creature (ie can I then combine the new one with another of the old ones)? I assume the combined Atk|Hp is the two creatures added up.

It is a great idea. Just one thing what do the combined become? FOr instance if two creatures have a different ability does the new one have both, none or a random of the two. Does it stay the same type of creature (ie can I then combine the new one with another of the old ones)? I assume the combined Atk|Hp is the two creatures added up.

Well there are 2 paths i could take with this.
 
A) Where the 2 cards mixed together and create a brand new card. (i.e. Dragon+skeleton=Dracholich)
Pros:
-Lots of new cards
-Encourages new deckbuilding ideas
-Creates Countless synergies.
Cons:
-Might be deadly to code
-Lots of work (me and zanz)
-The sheer amount of time and work required may prevent zanz from putting it in the game

B) Where the 2 cards ?|? is added up and a random psuedo-mutation ability is given.
Pros:
-Not a lot of work required.
-Probably simple coding
-Nice twist to the game.
Cons:
Not very unique
-Does not introduce anything new to the game really...

Hmm I like option A. You could use the passive abilities competition to figure out the new creature types

Ie. Graboid(Insect) + Pegasus(Flying)= Blindsticka (Flying Insect that pecks out human eyes) Ability: Blind: Target creature is blinded for 2 turns (statis)

You could go through the list and choose creatures that way:

Insect+Flying=Blindsticka
Insect+Poison=Scorpion
Flying+Massive=Gargantuan..

Not too sure about names but if you make it specific (ie only using set types) then you could limit the amount of new cards.

One other thing is what to do if they are the same:

Insect+Insect= Insectoid Warrior (Burrow)

Something like that anyway.

How about doing something like the halfbloods which have 2 preset halves to their name which combine. The ability would be random. And To top it off passives could be combined to make UBER cards. Such as Poisonus+Ranged=Posion Arrow Inflict 3 damage and 1 poison damage on each attack.

And for the names something like
Graboid=Grab+oid
Pegasus=Peg+asi
So depending on order it would be either
Grabasi or
Pegoid.
With dragons it would be like
Obsidian Dragon+Wyrm=either
Obsidian Wyrm or
Wyrm Dragon.
 It would have speacial coding with dragons where both halves of the other card are used.

Hmm yes that would work. you could go along the lines of using Elements as the joining rather than types of creatures:

ie.

Owls Eye ( ) + Virus ( ) = Aritis|Mores 3 Posion Arrow: Inflict 3 damage on Target Creature. Target is poisoned.

That could be a way around it.

I still think use the combined Atk|Hp rule though.
