I aflatoxind my own Virus. I sacrificed the virus but didn't target any creature and pressed cancel. The virus died but there was no Maligant cel From the aflatoxin to be seen.

Unupgraded Virus seems to have a lot of issues :p
Confirmed, even when not canceling the skill. Any death effects occurring at that creature slot later DO summon cells it seems, weirdness.

It will summon a Malignant Cell, it's only the usage of the skill that is causing these problems.
