I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it is intentional, but if you give a salvager an activated ability (for example BE in a graviton salvager), then the turn it uses the salvaging ability it gets summoning sickness and I need to wait another turn to activate the ability.
-
Good find. This could have serious implications even for card design. So this passive is more of a triggered skill, classified as a passive. Might be a little difficult to find out whether this is intentional or not.
-
Well, it may get easier if you get another card with a passive ability (Say, Devourer counts?) and give it an Active one (BE) to check if it has summoning Sickness as well. It may be a problem with just BE (as it is known Devtosis is a viable deck) or just with Salvagers.
I feel like it's not intentional, though.
But it's interesting.
EDIT: RoL + BE doesn't give off any summoning sickness. Would Mitosis + Salvager give any after the Salvager skill is activated, I wonder?
-
Tested salvager+mitosis and the same thing happens. Interestingly it is always the first Salvager you play that is used to salvage the permanent. If you give it mitosis it can't use it the turn you salvage something. Any other salvagers that may have mitosis can use their skills fine.
-
Nice catch. The salvager ability DOES act like an Active one.
Did you try destroying more than one permanent a turn? (You play two salvagers, lose two Pendulums -- Does that mean the second played Salvager will Salvage the Permanent, and if yes, does that one cancel Mitosis?)
-
It's trickier to test, but yes (gave the lvl6 trainer a deck with nothing but SoFos and explosions to test this). The salvaging seems to happen in the same order as the attack order. Whenever a Salvager used salvaging it wouldn't be able to use mitosis the following turn.
A random thought is that this may be a side effect of the way Zanz implemented each Salvager only being able to salvage one permanent per turn (so if you only have one salvager and your opponent uses PC twice you only salvage one permanent).

Nice find, tested it, and I can confirm bug. I also tried this with butterfly effect, and the same thing happened, can someone confirm this as well?
