The Silver Arrows were a good team. But taking on half-bloods like that? That was stupid.

Everything has a price. The only question is... how much are you willing to pay?

The Task

• Establish your Mercenary Company! (Create a deck to represent your MC.)
• A Mercenary Company is only as good as its reputation. The best Mercenary Company is the most reputable one. (The winner of this competition will be the MC with the most reputation.)
• What feats have you performed? What equipment do you boast of? Why should people hire your mercenaries? (A fancy back story/description for your MC/list of screenshots of defeated opponents is optional, but encouraged!)
• One submission per person, to be posted in a spoiler in this thread.

Recruiting

• You have 20000 to build your Mercenary Company. Bazaar prices apply. Upgraded cards add 1500. The Deck Cost Calculator may be helpful here-- but make sure not to count rares.

Reputation

Voting will be the main source of reputation. We encourage you to vote for: your favorite idea the coolest idea the most unique idea the most thematic idea the prettiest idea the most well supported deck idea In addition, you may post screenshots or image albums of named adversaries that you have defeated for extra reputation. Each unique named opponent only counts once. A record of reputation and reputation sources for Mercenary Companies will be maintained in the second post. It is worth repeating to mention that voting will be the main source of reputation, and kills accrued is only one possible factor out of many when looking for votes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will the Competition Organizers finish the icon in time for this one?
A:  Maybe!

Q: Why do AI kills give so little reputation?
A: When we ran earlier point based competitions, the submissions with the most non-voting points ended up earning the most votes too. We're looking to see what happens when we reduce the impact of those points to just tiebreaking/bragging rights/fluff.

I'm open to changing the reputation earning process if people have feedback expressing such, either through increasing the AI reputation gain or through explicitly marking thematic features like Backstory, Mercenary Captains, Company Mottoes, Armament Descriptions, etc.

The minimum duration of this competition will be 2 weeks, but I intend for this to be the last one before Brawl begins.

The child of Mother Earth and of an insignificant Gnomad, the Son of Earth is a brilliant Gnome Rider who wields an Eternity as a weapon and a Thorn or Spine Carapace as a shield. He is a skilled blacksmith so he has forged 6 such shields overall in case anyone breaks, though he usually cast the Enchant Artifact on them; a useful little spell every blacksmith should know.
 He is also able to harvest the quanta of every earth, emerald or time pillar he may encounter in his way. Moreover, the six Shards of Gratitude and the four Heal leafs are all gifts from his mother.
 He usually works as a mercenary for extra electrum...

Too bad shards aren't tiered, SoFree may have a greater impact on a deck than SoSe, yet still costs the same.

(You just cannot run 6 SoSes in a deck since it would cost 21000... other shards have the same efficiency unupgraded...)

Rolhope was my first FG grinder. I entered chat for the first time to ask what I should spend my upgrades on after having spent a couple days grinding 1500 & Higs pointed me to rolhope. Back then Arena was hard enough that grinding shards to make SosaDials would take too long unupped compared to FG grinding. The nice thing about RoHo Co is that they offer discount services starting at 7000 where you can start with 4 rols & maybe even skip lobos. But as you continue the grind you eventually greatly surpass 20000 to achieve a fully upped deck. Later on I flipped to sopa/flayer, dropping golden dragons & lobo, found that did better vs Gold & Plat

I'm sure RoHo's legacy is good enough that I don't need to go out & collect screenshots. Y'all already know it'd get 17 rep if I wasn't such a lazy adman
