Yeah, there is such thing as a friendly rivalry, where you try to kill the other guy but root for him if he goes ahead of you.

Well, I wouldn't call Michigan/Ohio State a friendly rivalry . I would smash a Ohio Statian's face in any chance I get if there's even a remote reason for it. It's more of a "the enemy of my enemy I hate even more is my friend even if that friend is also an enemy" kinda thing.

But yes, that's the gist of it.

The only time I ever willingly root for Ohio State is in their bowl games, which before this year left me pretty disappointed that we have lost to them.  I see the reasoning though.  I just wish it would start, it seems like this concept would be fun to play.

That's exactly what I do. Ohio State is the dirt of the Big 10, in my eyes. But I still root for them in bowl games.

This good vs. evil match would be like a bowl game.

First off, when I posted about the potential imbalance issue due to Evil having all the perm control, I didn't mean for it to be a complaint.  It was just an observation.  While I still think it is unbalanced and it would be nice for it to be more balanced, I do realize that the Theme > Balance for this senario.

Here is an idea that fits into the theme well.  Shard of Gratitude and Shard of Divinity, while technically considered Other cards should be considered Good for this theme and thus can only be used for/by Good.  They should still count as an upgraded card.

On another note, SG, few of us are actually complaining. Before your clarification that this is primarily a test, we were under the impression that this was a competitive event, bragging rights and all. If there is anything a competitive gamer wants more than an advantage before the game starts, it's a fair fight before the game starts. Instead of "postponing" this event so quickly, you should allow your intentions to settle through those participating. I'm sure that the vast majority of people will stop the complaints, criticism, what have you, once they understand the true reason for this event.

Quoted For Truth (and emphasis mine).  I, for one, am totally cool with the current setup as long as it's public knowledge that there was never any intention of it being a serious competition. 

I would like to see a serious, balanced-as-best-we're-able competition sometime in the near future -- but that's another matter entirely, and I'm actually very happy with the idea of using this as a 'testing ground' to see what that more-balanced competition might need to take into account.

Why is time/aether a rivalry? I see no connection between the two other than that they have a good synergy. They aren't the opposite of eachother.

This has been discussed on this same thread already.

Time and Aether are both "Other Dimension" type of elements who might be fighting for control of that dimension or something.

Not all rivalries has to be like hot vs. cold, black vs. white, etc.

Entropy/Gravity... I see no connection. Why would they be rivals? (Even though I did put them on opposing teams, it could have just as easily been entropy on good too.)

The way I see it, Gravity represents order, science and things making sense. Entropy on the other hand represent chaos and randomness. If you think about it like that, they are the opposites.
