While evil may have permanent control, Good has the only pillar-less decks in the game (unless you count gnome gem finder and brimstone fire-eater)

While evil might have the only permanent control, evil's permanents are boneyard and nightfall.  Good has explosive gas, hourglass, feral bond, and sundial.  Oh yea and flying weapon.  That's a biggy.

While evil may have immaterial creatures, if a deck on the good side relies on killing enemy creatures, then why the heck are you on the good team anyway?

While I must admit that all decks have counters (Save for Discord/Black Hole, haven't found a good one there yet), the only real counter to mono-aether is perm control, which good has none of. The only other way is with momentum, which can be lobo'd. Taking fire mark for explosions would eliminate the chance of decking out vs. a time deck, which cannot PA it's eternity or sheilds.

Good has RoLs... we have supernovas/novas. The bases of the best pillarless decks

Ummm, weps/sheilds don't count as permanents?

Discord is a good counter, as are devourers. So dark is really good against it, as you can steal their discord if they don't fly one, and you can slow them down considerably with devourers, and the extra quanta from those creatures helps against the discords.

I didn't go through the full 16 pages of this thread, and I won't be participating...

But, I think it will be really interesting to see what the outcome is... I have my doubts about the fairness and equality in the division of Good vs Evil. I think Evil has a lot more creature control, but Good will have epic healing and creature spam...

On a note of 'recording games'... Would this feature be at all possible? Like a way to record, either screenshot of each turn, or a more fluid wmv/flash video of a game in progress? Be really cool to 'play-back' a recorded game.

Anyways, good luck with this tournament, both Players and Organisers I envy your enthusiasm and activity.

I wasn't suggesting that a recording feature is compulsory for anyone in this competition.

I was just saying it could be nice to have some sort of built-in feature, by which games are recorded. It would not necessarily matter if your computer can or can not handle it. If it can run Elements, The Game... Then I'm going to assume that it can cope with creating screenshots and storing them in numerical order in a sub-directory...

A very simple mechanic to implement this would be, to
1) Ask the player at the start of the game if he wishes the game to be recorded.
2) (more difficult:) Ask the player where he wants to store the recording of this game.
3) Everytime Spacebar is pressed, the browser client takes a screenshot and stores it.
4) This would work for both players, so, my opponent hits spacebar, and I'll get a screenshot.

Like I said, very simple, you'd miss out a lot of inter-turn detail such as extra cards being drawn (hourglasses) or turns in which a lot happens might take a while to interpret...

anyways, I'll post this more fully in the game suggestions and feedback section - because I think being able to watch a recorded game would be cool, especially for tournaments and seeing what tactics people are using... as opposed to spectating the game live.
