Voting: The New False God https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=4938.msg48944#msg48944
« on: April 05, 2010, 08:07:57 pm »
It's time to vote for your favorite new False Gods!

While voting, keep the following in mind:

1. FG decks shouldn't be all rares. They're high-level opponents, not farms.
2. FG's should be hard, but not completely impossible. Dark Matter and Rainbow are pretty much the edge.
3. All decks should be considered as if they have three times the mark, twice the card draw and double the cards.
4. You're voting for a top 3. zanzarino will be the one to decide the eventual winner. Of course, if he decides on one before voting ends, that one is automatically the winner.

Now, the entries!

Personally, I really don't like all the huge decks without card draw, and the decks with strategies that seem a bit too dependant and complex. Not quite something for False Gods.

Also, a deck called 'Rayp' is just wrong.

Yeah, that was very, very strange.

Massive decks without card draw tend to be some of the most erratic false gods; the ones that are either very powerful if they are lucky, or can easily be destroyed if they are not so lucky.

And because False Gods should be challenging but not impossible, I think that those decks are perfectly viable. Of course, I see what you mean - leaving everything up to chance is not the perfect solution. However, I don't see why a large but well-balanced deck is inferior as a False God to a smaller deck.

Only Neptune seems good to me. The others are just...boring...most of them use Phoenix and/or Fractal and that really sucks, there were more than these cards.

That's why I based mine on butterfly effect.  I'm afraid, however, everyone saw my off element cards and assumed it was fail.  =(

In case you wonder why my entry (no.29) has a weird name

Leaudevie

It should be writen as L'eau de vie (french) meaning water of life
And the reason why I chose that name ie because immaterial creatures are not flooded

Back to the other gods, most gods I really think its too big and thus making not very good.

But like I said in another thread, some of these FG might look very good on paper, but when the AI plays it, it is very unlikely to come out right...
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,4757.msg52999#msg52999

:aether :air :darkness :death :earth :entropy  ---PLEASE READ---:fire :gravity :life :light :time :water
To be honest...
I dont see why people would vote for a deck with fractal...
I personally still dont believe AI can play it right...

For example, this morning I was fighting t50 (chaoz I think)
He had elite charge and oty out, I had 4 immaterial creature out...
(And he had 10 gravity tower in play)
He fractal 2 times oty, and ignore the elite charger, and end up with 10 or so oty in the field dealing 0 damage and have nothing to eat

Therefore, I cannot see any reason fractal deck should be voted, If you have a deck that needs fractal to work in a specfic way...   :(

Instead of advertisng that you should vote for my FG entry, I just want to urge you to think again how the AI will react with those hand before voting!!!!!!

My DreamCatcher uses butterfly effect and goes with different destruction cards like earthquakes, black holes, discords, pests, etc., and fast creatures, what makes it fun to play against (and with).

[shameless self-promotion]

My deck, Osiris, is a False God with only 48 cards! The 12 Precognitions in his deck reduces his deck size, and (hopefully) guarantees good draws!

This god will simply lock you down with his twelve Pharaohs and numerous Scarabs, devouring all your creatures.

Vrt, you made the "Fenrir" and "Forgotten" FG decks look exactly the same.

And you should vote for Tauros! His deck has incredible speed with 12x hourglasses and tons of control with Pharoah/Pulverizer. He actually uses graboids effectively!
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

Personally, I really don't like all the huge decks without card draw, and the decks with strategies that seem a bit too dependant and complex. Not quite something for False Gods.

Also, a deck called 'Rayp' is just wrong.
Woops! I meant to go back and rename that before it ended. It was more of a joke-ish name than anything. I know a name like that wouldn't be in the game. People in the chat saw and knew it was a joke, so I don't get why you couldn't...

Unfortunately, some internet goers are unable to joke about rape, as they have had close encounters with the horrid subject.

As a person, I kindly ask that you refrain from joking about that.  Thank you.

--and now on to less depressing things--

Why is dream catcher doing so well?!  It's pretty damn similar to Anomaly, except worse.  Why is there precognition in a deck with more than 30 cards?  It's not like the AI is smart enough to take advantage of seeing your cards.  Why are there Physila in a deck without any consistent source of death quanta?  Wouldn't it make more sense to have Maxwells and Damage spells?  Yes.  Yes it would.  Vote Anomaly!  It's a better deck with a cooler name too.

Understood. It was more of a play on words on RoL's sake. Sorry if it was offensive.
