I thought Detachment was cool. Oh well...

Gj to 10 Men nonetheless. The idea behind Intuition could still be salvaged and balanced by Zanz I guess. It fits Entropy decently well imo.

@A few Individuals: Also, I find it rude to bash on the winner like that. He won fair and square; there should be words of congratulation instead of bad sportsmanship.

You either misread our posts, or ... I dunno. I've never attacked anybody. Ten men won fair and square.
This is not a question of sportmaniship ect. My shard lost since first round, i made it in the last 10 mins of the competition and would have been totally surprised if it had passed first round. I'm not saying "oh no, my shard lost, damn damn this is not fair, he cheated". That would be completely ridiculous.

What i'm saying is : this *card* SHOULD not have won. For the reasons i've put before. Had it not been a competition but a new shard by zanz, i'd have said the EXACT same comments (removing the part about zanz and the competition).

Congratulations to 10 men for winning the Shard Revolution competition! :)

On another note...

While 10 men may have won, this does not mean that his shard will automatically be put into the game; if anything, Scaredgirl will redirect the developers to this topic as necessary if they still need ideas for the remaining 8 elemental shards that are not in the development page yet. My directive was to simply host this competition, and thus, regardless of who won (and whether or not it followed zanzarino's true intentions of shards in the future), the results may have no affect on what could potentially be added into the game.

That said, upon deeper reflection, I could have been more proactive in trying to encourage users to take a more closer understanding of what Zanzarino had intended to do with shard ideas (beneficial to all elements, but providing a specific bonus to one), but that's a negligible circumstance that has no bearing whatsoever. I'd like to thank (again) everyone who participated in this competition (over 70 entries!  :o), and despite the horribly chaotic task of managing it all, I pretty much enjoyed it. :D

C-C-C-Combo Maker!
Participants are randomly paired up to make a card that has synergy with an in-game mechanic that they individually selected beforehand.

This is just like the situation in Rock Paper Scissors competition (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,16246.0.html) where QuantumT won with the most ingenious decks but also the decks that are gonna mess up the tourney.

10 men won fair and square, and therefore I give my congratz.

I must say I'm dissappointed by some cards. Sometimes I think newbies shouldn't have right to vote (No offence newbies), because they don't understand the game balance and mechanics.
Shard ideas were supposed to be usefull in every element, but with some advantages for 1 of the 12 elements, not only used by only one specific element.

Knowledge - moomoose good idea implanting spell damage into shard, but elemental bonus was not so good.(uninteresting)
Freedom - I voted for this. It's good idea usable by every element and favoring  :air. Just it's quite complicated before you actually use it - Does it stack? Does it affect opponent's creatures as well?
Detachment - skill TU for  :darkness. And only usable in darkness
Resilence -  Maybe good idea but it's not simple (Not that I don¨t understand it, just it's too complex)
Intuition - Usable only in  :entropy.
Determination - Quite good. Bonus is insignificant (If inflicts only 2 damage once)
Balance - Quite good. OP in Blackhole deck. - total quanta denial
Restraint - very good but without water creatures it's weak. However if standard 2 turn freeze was raised it would be OP with water creatures

Part of the problem is "first past the post" style voting.

Let's pretend that 4 people voted for Intuition because they thought it was a good card, 4 people because they favor Entropy, and 4 because they love cards with random effects. We can assume that everyone who understood the competition's intent voted for something else - and with a few good options to choose from, "wasted" their votes by spreading them across several different choices.

If people were able to indicate what their second favorite shard was, then shards with the lowest votes would fall off and where applicable votes would be transferred to more popular contenders. This way, people can still have a voice if they have the otherwise unfortunate/hopeless stance wherein they love a losing entry, sorta like the second place entry, and hate the first place entry.

It's better explained in this informative video by C.G.P. Grey about lions and owls:
