Rock-Paper-Scissor-Lizard-Spock Competition - VOTING https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=57384.msg1176015#msg1176015

Voting Time

If you somehow by some reason forgot what we're voting for, don't worry, some participants explain their decks (although not necessary.) To ensure all submissions are the same as they were sent to me, I'll be quoting them directly from my PM inbox (the only alteration I'll do is add deck tags if there were none.) If you don't know what this is all about, you can find all the rules to this Competition here. Alternatively, use this fancy flowchart :

Please remember that the criteria for voting isn't which combination of decks is the hardest counter (we can do that ourselves), but rather whatever criteria you want. In other words, it's fine if you want to vote for decks that have 100% hardcounters to eachother, and it's also fine if you want to vote for a combination of decks that while not being a complete counter are still usable out of the competition. The voting criteria is yours to decide.

Submissions

Spoiler for dragonsdemesne:
The five decks and how they counter/are countered by each other:

General:
All five decks have a shield that prevents all damage dealt by two of the other decks.
In the cases where poison is used, all counterdecks have a way to easily deal with any poison that was accumulated.
Any counter deck that plays its shield/wing shield chain and draws its poison counter in time, cannot lose, even with the worst possible RNG after that.

ROCK crushes LIZARD:
Lizards are slow and the Psions just won't be in play fast enough before they start getting reflected back.

ROCK crushes SCISSORS:
1 attack creatures are useless against damage reduction shields. Even drawing 6x RoLs and the rest of the creatures there after wouldn't equal a victory and the Shards of Gratitude are just the icing on the cake.

SCISSORS decapitates LIZARD:
Again with those slow moving Psions and those reflective shields. Bigger deck too.

Explanations:

Spoiler for Scissors:
- has 100% win rate vs Paper; this latter deals no damage, so basically one more cards is enough to seal a 100% win rate by deckout.
- has 99,5 % win rate vs Lizard, that deals no damage and has no damage reduction nor healing. The same amount of cards cannot grant a 100% win rate, but "just" a 99.5%.
- is countered by Spock with a chance of 83% (according to sim); this percentage can easily go above 90% with human players, since RoL's are countered hard by UG and Thunderstorm.
- is countered by Rock with a chance that I estimated above the 90%. Rock is able to kill Scissors even if all NT's are stored at the bottom of the deck. The only few chances for Scissors to win are that all Ice Shields and all Dry Spells are stored at the bottom deck, while having a perfect starting hand.

Spoiler for Paper:
- has an estimated win rate >80% vs rock. I played Paper vs Rock 10 times in trainer and I've won 10 times. The strategy is to seal Rock's towers with PA and winning by deckout. Miracle and Sancs are useful in case Rock can play a NT before a PA.
Spoiler for some screenshots:
- has a 93,6% win rate, according to sim, vs Spock. Mirror shield grants protection from UG and the win comes by deckout.
- is countered by Lizard with a 100% chance; both decks deal no damage, Lizard wins by deckout always.
- is countered by Scissors with a 100% chances by deckout.

Spoiler for Rock:
(Rock stats are only estimated because the sim doesn't recognize Dry Spell)
- has a 100% chance to win vs Lizard. Rock can deal 100 damage even with all NT's as last cards, while Lizard is basically a monopillar deck with 6 mirror shields.
- has an estimated win rate above 90% vs Scissors; Rock is able to kill Scissors even if all NT's are stored at the bottom of the deck. The only few chances for Scissors to win are that all Ice Shields and all Dry Spells are stored at the bottom deck, while having a perfect starting hand.
- is countered by Paper with an estimated >80% chance. Paper can easily seal Rock damage source, winning by deckout.
- is countered by Spock with an estimade >80% chance. Wings are able to give perfect protection to Spock, while Rock has no defense against UG. Rock can have a chance only if all Spock's wings are stored at the bottom of the deck.
Spoiler for some screenshots of Rock deck:

Spoiler for Lizard:
- has a 100% win rate vs Paper, by deckout.
- has a 92,5% win rate on sim vs Spock; mirror shields counter UG and the victory comes by deckout.
- is countered 100% of times by Rock, as stated above.
- is countered 99,5% of times by Scissors, as stated above.

Spoiler for Spock:
- has a 83% win rate vs Scissors (according to sim); this percentage can easily go above 90% with human players, since RoL's are countered hard by UG and Thunderstorm.
- has an estimated win rate >80% vs Rock, since Wings hard counter NT rush, while Rock has no defense vs UG.
- according to sim, Spock is countered 93,6% of times by Paper by deckout, while mirror shield counter UG.
- according to sim, Spock is countered 92,5% of times by Lizard by deckout, while mirror shields counter UG.

Losses to Immorush - Novas and immos create enough extra quanta to mess up devs and to get golems out fast enough.

Losses to Life OTK - Dims and Dials chain can outstall as Life duo has no PC.

I hope they all qualify as Counters, as I tried to get each above ~70% winrate in the game simulator.

Thanks for hosting,

Astonishingly, a deck not unlike this one was actually recommended to me once upon a time.  Two fireshields were removed from the original deck to make the weakness to Bacteria feasible.

Rock > Scissors - all the creatures hit through the shield, easy win
Rock < Paper - Skull Shields kill all the creatures fairly easily due to low HP, and block all damage once they reach skeleton form
Rock > Lizard - EQ denies all the potential babynymphs.  NQ/NT are both expensive and require quanta cards to be cast on.
Rock < Spock - Creatures die to ragepot, healing cards survive any damage that gets done.

Scissors > Paper - bigger pure deckout beats smaller pure deckout
Scissors > Lizard - every creature is >5 HP, so no damage for the NT deck once a single shield comes out.
Scissors < Spock - Faren kills through the Gravity Shield quite thoroughly.

Paper < Lizard - Nymphs have enough HP to survive skull shield, and bonewall is ineffective against the sheer number of creatures.
Paper > Spock - Bonewall (sequentially used) block the only source of damage in the deck (one Faren strike per turn) long enough for deckout.  It's like 7-turn Dims!

Lizard > Spock - Nymphs are immune to single Ragepots and should outrush this deck despite the healing.

Dragondemesne's 2nd deck seems to be missing the Jade Shields.

It is the code I was sent. Below I submit his PM without any alterations.

Spoiler for Hidden:
The five decks and how they counter/are countered by each other:

General:
All five decks have a shield that prevents all damage dealt by two of the other decks.
In the cases where poison is used, all counterdecks have a way to easily deal with any poison that was accumulated.
Any counter deck that plays its shield/wing shield chain and draws its poison counter in time, cannot lose, even with the worst possible RNG after that.

I concede to majofa. While my designs come close, only his reach 100%. Well done.

His decks are 100% counters, but they are also unplayable (at least in the sense I assumed) because they aren't viable outside this event.  I don't know how the votes will go, but it depends on how each voter interprets 'playable deck'.  They are certainly all legal decks, in that sense, bu they will also all lose to ai1.

It's funny how paper beats all 4 of the other decks. flyingcat is clearly trying to win mrpaper's vote.

It would be a shame for the best entry to lose because of semantics.
Somehow still around, somewhat

it depends on how each voter interprets 'playable deck'.

http://elementscommunity.org/forum/competitions/new-competition!!-rock-paper-scissors-lizard-spock-deckbuilding-competition/msg1173784/#msg1173784
Here, Spike defines 'playable' to mean that it is possible to load the deck and enter a game with it. By this definition, every submission here is playable.

Anyway,
Please remember that the criteria for voting isn't which combination of decks is the hardest counter (we can do that ourselves), but rather whatever criteria you want. In other words, it's fine if you want to vote for decks that have 100% hardcounters to eachother, and it's also fine if you want to vote for a combination of decks that while not being a complete counter are still usable out of the competition. The voting criteria is yours to decide.
