Why all the love for #8? It's nothing special.
#1 and #7, now those ARE special (#9 isn't bad but those are better).

8, 9 are winning. I can't understand both of them have rough edges

me neither...  bloodshadow's darkness mark sort of is like the cloak on the current darkness mark...

I think his is the closest to the marks in game, but the outlining is a downside. If not for that outlining I would vote for that one.

i'm between 6 and 9... they look really nice. :/

problems i saw:

1- looks too close to the actual mark.
2- not that bad, but 6 and 9 beat it. sorry.
3- too classicky.
4- too realistic.
5- see number 2. sorry.
7- I don't know. something bugs me about it. :/
8- too futuristic.

I tried it without outlines. But if I did that, the gray will be indistinguishable from the gray background. And I didn't want to make everything solid black.

#9 actually uses an image from the Internet, but of course that is allowed. Seeing as everyone's giving reviews, here's my two cents:

1. Nice, but the picture touches the edges. Not good in a mark.
2. Too realistic.
3. Too realistic.
4. Too realistic.
5. Well, I liked it. I know I'm not an artist, but I thought the concept was solid - vampire wing shape, left wing crippled, right wing strong (a reference to Darkness elemental ability to cripple the opponent while strengthening itself), forked tongue, actually looks like a humanoid figure if you look at it closely. (I made the mark, in case you're wondering).
6. Great, a solid mark design, and actually plausible in-game.
7. Looks cool, but the colours are too different from the actual mark.
8. Looks cool, but not very rune-like.
9. A brilliant mark design, if a bit complex.

BTW, I would have voted for the wadurr one if it used a smaller and more centered snowflake.

It is made from a macro picture of a real snowflake. I have some variations of it tattooed. I love this picture. I agree that it is a bit too realistic to be a good mark. My artistic skills are pretty limited. I just always thought that snow was under-represented in the game. So here I am. Vote 4.

Number 9 makes sense. It's not visually that great so I don't get why it's so popular but that's that.
