MONTHLY CHALLENGE.
Hi everyone, and welcome to the first monthly challenge.
This is a great project thought and meant to involve a GREAT number of players, newbies and pro gamers, rich and poors alike. More experienced players and less experienced ones will have fun, I guarantee that =)
Now you are thinking: "Just what is this guy talking about?"
The answer? It's a huge bunch of challenges that you have 1 month to complete. You can complete any number of them, for fun or for the big prize. They're divided into 4 sections;
Beginners: This section is meant for people that are approaching the game, or have played it for little time. You are allowed to use the trainer and have no restrictions in deck building. There are 35 challenges in this section.
Intermediate: This section is meant for intermediate players, people who have a partially upgraded deck and think beginners' challenges are too easy for them. You are allowed to use the trainer. There are 30 challenges in this section.
Expert: This section is only meant for those players who have at least one fully upgraded deck. The use of the trainer is allowed, but you get less points (see below) for doing this, and the challenges begin to be really hard. There are 20 challenges in this section.
Master: This section is only meant for those players who have a vast knowledge of the mechanics of the game, and know in-depth strategies. The challenges are only 15, but they're really, really, really hard to complete. The use of the trainer is.. allowed. Why? Because this section is not meant for those players who only have a bunch of money, or those who can grind FGs and get a lot of cards. This is for hardcore deck-builders, and it will be the most challenging by far. [/list]
That said, I'll start explaining how this mega-competition works. You have 1 month to play. Your posts can ONLY be screenshots, and with your first post you have to let everyone know which section you want to be in. This means you will have to:
1- Download the pdf file of the right section, and complete a challenge.
2- Take a screenshot of your achievement, and post it on the forum (here). In the same post (your first one) you will have to write which section you want to be in, and claim the 1st position (or the 2nd or 3rd) for the challenge you've completed.
3- With the subsequent posts you will only have to post your other screenshots. I will take care of the ranking and such.
4- At the end of the competition, the ones with the most points win a supah cool icon.. and tons of respect, of course.
You win points by completing challenges.
In the beginners' section you get 3,2 and 1 point for each challenge you complete (3 if first, 2 if second, 1 if third).
In the intermediate section you get 2 points if you post the screenshot first, and 1 if you are second. A person can only complete a challenge once (he/she cannot post twice for the same challenge).
In the expert section you get 2 points if you post the screenshot first, 1 if you are second and 0,5 if third. A person can complete the same challenge twice, but with a different deck and mark. In this case the screenshots must include the deck used. Using the trainer means that you only get 1 point if you post 1st, and you can't post for a challenge that has already been won once.
In the master section you get 5 points if you post the screenshot first, 4 if you are second, 3 if you are third. A person can complete the same challenge up to 2 times (1st and 3rd, 2nd and 3rd, 1st and 2nd). The mark can be the same. You have to PM the decks you are using (not post them here) but post here the screenshot.
If the screenshot is copied/not clear/suspected to be edited, you are disqualified. Any use of the "more power button" will cause the poster to be kicked from the challenge. I will take care of the scoring.
Whenever I say "3 SS Rule" I mean that you need to post 1 screenshot of the 1st turn, one of the midgame (when you have roughly 1/2 to 1/3 of the total cards in your deck) and one of the last turn. For example, let's say you're playing a game vs a false god, 3SS rule required. Your deck is composed of 50 cards. You make a screenshot of your starting hand, then when you have 20 cards left you screenshot again, if you complete the challenge you screenshot a 3rd time. Then you post the 3 screenshots. I know having to screenshot 3 times each match is boring, but this is the best way to prevent people from cheating in challenges with a card restriction. They could put a forbidden card in their deck, use it and cheat us, because no one could ever realize that by just looking at the final screenshot 90% of the times. You have 1 month. The challenge will end on the 1/3/2010 (1st of March).
The Mega-Competition is OVER!! Of course, you win only amongst the people in YOUR section. So don't think it's convenient to try masters' challenges if you're not skilled enough, just because you see "5 points".
