Remedial.
In the Dark Ages, nothing was safe. Rape, theft and murder were a constant danger. However, one village banded together to keep these problems out of their midst. These were once local farmers, craftsmen and housewives, living honest lives. However as time passed, and magicks came upon the land they descended into darkness, secrets, deception. But now, banded together, these abilities which had plagued chaos onto the land, mixed with the natural remedies and skills from their honest times, were able to save them.
Historians have found the remains of this village, and today, I present to you their secrets.

The villagers never believed in one indestructable force. Still resourceful and cunning, they always had many strategies, always able to adapt to whatever evils the land brought towards them.
Gargoyles were the stregnth of their lines. The men crafted them, and granted them the power to stregnthem themselves. They could be given stregnth, and made vampiric using brews and extracts from fallen and slayed beasts.
But while the men were fighting and preparing, the women were also working. They had learnt the dark magic of voodoo, and were able to hurt their opponent from behind their own lines. They could use the extract of basilisk to delay them, and to allow for more punishment. If forces were low, they could fuel their anger, and create monsters the enemy would not dare attack. While things were being prepared, cloaks could be cast over the top of the army, hiding their true intentions until their army was unsurmountable.
These people had also learnt magicks of their own, able to inflict earthquakes upon their opponents structures, and protect their own artifacts from any harm, Including the strongest shield available to man, and the ability to cast night during the brightest day. Sometimes, they were even able to make fire fall from the sky, to terrorise and destroy all hope of their oponents.
And if all went wrong, from their safe spot in the towers, the women could prepare, nurture, and then cast upon flames, to steal the last breath from inside the enemies mouth.
Perhaps slow for their time, perhaps not fully accepting the introduction of magick, these small villagers had learnt their lesson, and certainly tought the rest of the land one. And remedial as they were, their remedies shall never be forgotten.
