False God Competition: Dark Ages https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=19137.msg243741#msg243741

Design a False God
Theme: Dark Ages

Dark Ages:
a. An era of ignorance, superstition, or social chaos or repression.
b. The early or crude stage in the history or development of something.
c. An age of no magic and a focus on warfare.

The time has come once again, ladies and gents! Time to step up and create a deck, no, a god(more or less) from your own imagination and bring them to life(more or less). That's right! The Elements Council, as chosen by all of you, have selected the best theme ideas and voted amongst themselves to find the best of the best theme ideas. A big shout out to everyone who participated in coming up with theme ideas(which can be seen here (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,17874.0.html)). Everyone thanks you for your participation to help make these four competitions possible.

You may have missed your chance when such an amazing opportunity came by the first time, but now you will have four chances to create a False God loved, or hated, by the community. "What could be better?" you ask? I'll tell you what! There is a good chance that if your False God is the winner, it will be implemented into the game! You heard right! Into the game! So do you want to get in on this awesome opportunity? Then look below to see how you can get on your way to creating a False God!

Rules of the competition:
1.  Using the theme of Dark Ages, develop an original deck that False Gods may use in Elements.
2.  A False God's deck consists of 3x a Mark of any element, up to twelve of any non-Pillar card, and being completely upgraded.  No Exceptions.
3.  While every idea should be original, you may submit a False God deck that you personally have created that is posted in the False God Proposal area.
4.  Unlike other competitions, this will only last a week, so get cracking!
5. You are only allowed one submission per FG Deck competition. You may change your single submission as many times as you'd like.
6. All submissions must be posted here. Submissions posted in the FG Proposal section will not be counted.
7. Although not required, if you can, please try to incorporate some of the new cards into your submission:
(Silence, Mindgate, Sky Blitz, Wings, Cloak, VooDoo Doll, Nightmare, Soul Catcher, Deathstalker, Pandemonium, Schrödinger's Cat, Chimera, Scorpion, Crusader, Hope, Dune Scorpion, Steam Machine)
8. You may not submit a deck to any FG Deck Competition if it has already been submitted to a previous competition.
9. All submissions must come with a name for a False God, an image of the deck, a 100 word description to explain the reasoning behind the deck, and the deck must be posted in the False God proposal (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,263.0.html) section along with a link attached to the submission.

While posting your deck, use the following code:

Code: [Select]
[b][size=18pt]INSERT DECK NAME HERE[/size][/b]
[deck mark=MARK author=Kuroaitou]***[/deck]
Replace the 'INSERT DECK NAME HERE' with an appropriate False God name, the 'MARK' with the appropriate element, and the '***' with the card codes imported from the game/trainer."

Have fun everybody!

Time's up!

LIONHEART

Charger highstepping, the King rode across the front line of his army.  It was small, but every soldier in it had discipline, had experience, and had a fanatic zeal that would drive them to give their very lives in service to their King: the LIONHEART.

"MEN!" he began.  "Today is the day that they will write about in the tales of minstrels, of bards and skalds the world over!  Arm the siege machines!  Ready your chargers!  When this day is done, win or lose, our bravery will be legend!  The enemy is diverse, and myriad: elementals of all manner decend upon us, eager to claim to be among those elite few who have challenged the Gods -- and lived!"

The King raised his glowing blade, and the soldiers raised theirs in response.  "With the help of God's angels, and the eldritch forces of the Nymphs of Tir'na'nog, we shall raise the hammers of justice, and bring them down upon our foes with the pure love and righteous anger of the true Warriors of the LIONHEART!  ARE YOU READY TO DIE?" he bellowed loudly enough the the furthest of his troops could hear.

"YES!" they responded with fervent passion.  "YES!" their cries echoed from the surrounding hills.  "YES!" their own voices sang back to them of the glory that lay ahead.

The king donned his battle helmet and signaled for the standard to be raised.

"Then let us WAR!!!"

LIONHEART is a rushing God that brings lots and lots of quick Momentum to the table, and backs it up with healing for both himself and his minions.  This should walk right through most CCYB/CHMD type rainbows that rely on Permafrost/Phase Shield and limited healing to stay alive.  With both Morning Glory and Titan having the same cost, he won't play one over the other, and I don't see any other major AI problems.  The shield-wise defense is almost nil, but what is there will speed up the attack a bit, and a pair of Miracles could make this fight much longer than  looks like it will be.

In most games, the Crusaders will end up getting the Blessings, but on the off chance that an Animated Titan picks one up (and it should be the choice to target by the AI if one is in play), it will get spread between all of the new Crusaders that pop up.  Trebuchets offer a chance to get in some last-shot damage through any strong shields in case Lobo comes to play -- mostly just to be a pain to any RoL-Hope or Retro-Bonewall decks that take a shot at it.

On the other hand, there are significant weaknesses here: Antimatter will do a lot of damage to this deck, as will repeatable CC, particularly an early Eternity that can undo all of the Animate Weapons.  And Lionheart has virtually no control at all -- just 2 lone Gravity Forces which are more intended to be used on Titans than not, but will probably end up sitting uselessly on an opponent's creature until an Archangel or unendowed Crusader comes along to deal some damage.  (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,19142.0.html)

Just so it is noticed:

9. All submissions must come with a name for a False God, an image of the deck, a 100 word description to explain the reasoning behind the deck, and the deck must be posted in the False God proposal section with a link posted along with the submission.

These are the requirements for every submission.

Knowledge, wisdom, intelligence all consumed by death. Rebirth............ With the destruction of knowledge we have creation, we have rebirth. Their women were beaten, the animals spread like wildfire, the plague consumed all of Europe all hope was lost.........

A shining light was seen. "We can repopulate....." So it begins. The rebirth of Europe, it's speed was unmatched, with age; wisdom and knowledge returned to them. They were mighty, they died quick, but returned with a frenzy.
So anyway, this FG focuses on speed + multiplication. He was made up in the thought that the Dark Ages are remembered as death and genius being lost. My FG focuses on the bright side, after Europe had died, they had a rebirth of knowledge that came at an incredible speed. The element life represents the rebirth of a country along with the speed it rebuilt itself. Time in this FG represents the wisdom and knowledge that came back to Europe after it was destroyed. Gravity represents the force it took and the determination that Europe had to survive such a pandemic. So, I present you frenzy, enjoy.
Whenever you feel alone and nobody is there, you can't feel more alive.

Dieing is easy, living is hard.

In an era where oppression and great army wins the war, a defeated leader comes to term that defense is the key to win. A product of his own tyranny, he armed himself with a gigantic weapon that will break through any shield, a special shield that will keep him safe from big attackers, and most importantly a mechanical device to win the war. Continuing his reign of terror, he calls upon a horde of massive defenders who has no fear to make their last stand. Assisted by rows of his new cruel devices; sacrificing his own defenders to cause massive damage focused on the enemy's leader.

"It matters not whether you have an untouchable army, a plethora of foul magic arts or an indestructible shield.
For I have the best defense; and best defense makes the best offense!"

Trying to put a mechanical-only theme where big machines and dictatorship comes in mind. Though Fractal is a spell, but I rather to look at it as a siren to summon the army horde. Basic strategy is Armagio as defense and Trebuchet to deal damage. Fractal Armagio for chain defense and unlimited supply for Trebuchet. Dragons and Titan as an added damage. Its lack of PC and CC is a good balance. Counter deck needs to rely on PC, constant healing or both. Mutation and dune deck with healing should also work. The game with this FG should be fast - either you'll win or lose fast.

Re: The Black Plague

Just out of curiousity, why the Nightmares?  Also, that's a LOT of control and not a lot of offense.  Maybe you'd be better off with a mix of Retrovirii and Plagues just to get the extra creatures in there?  IDK.

Re: The Dark Aegis

Cute pun.  You do realize that the Firemasters have nothing to power them, yes?

Yep, the only damage is from Trebuchet and Armagio. I've noticed that AI is quite cleaver in tossing those too. Well, most of the time. :P About the name.. Not sure if I wanted to change it or not.

Added the link in earlier post.

Do we have to adhere to these three definitions, or can we come up with our own interpretations of "Dark Age"?
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

The name? Honestly I thought of druid, but wanted something that sounded better, thanks Essence for finding me a good one :)

Way back in the dark ages, magic was forbidden. People were superstitious, paranoid and saw everyone as a possible cause for their suffering. Druids were the first to suffer, they were chased down and prosecuted, untill Taliesin rallied the druids to fight back for their "righteous cause", survival.

Now rumor goes the reincarnation of Taliesin has come to the plane of elements.

Strategy is to animate Jade Staffs, endow them with Crusaders and adrenaline everything on the field to maximize healing per turn.

There was a time, in False God's history, when betrayal spread. Some gods were killed, others were exiled, some others yet thrilled inside this situation, gaining power by the oppression of the weak. Only one was untouched by this corruption: it was The Judge.
The Judge started his crusade: he decided to reinstitute order and to condemn those who tried to spread corruption. He was helped in his mission by his followers, fanatics Crusaders of the Light, who prayed upon him to receive Blessings and Miracles. He dispensed justice on his opponents, he crushed corruption, he exiled the Gods who tried to break the balance. When he restored the order, though, he decided that he had to mantain it: he started to spread terror and to use devious weapons in order to mantain the peace. He even killed once or twice. His Crusaders endowed Daggers and became assassins. His power grew upon the weak and he started to enjoy it. At the end, he started to spread Nightmeres in his opponent's mind to cut off any chance of rebellion.
The gods rebelled. They stopped the Judge and his reign of terror and exiled him, told him never to come back. Once his old enemies returned, for a reason or the other, he came back nonetheless, drawn to the False Gods by both his new lust for power and his old sense of justice.
[Note: his old enemies are supposed to be the three other winners of this contests, or at the very least The Outcast contest]

The deck idea is pretty simple: get out a Dagger, buff it, endow it, damage opponent and heal yourself at the same time. The only twist in it is the use of Nightmere: after all, Nightmering a Dagger will be terrible EVEN if the opponent can use it...
This god warrants impressive healing, good quantum balance (I tested it in trainer, and it's good, 3x mark is enough to power low cost cards and the solar buckler really helps for light, if it gets out) good offense (24/23 vampiric Crusader is nice vs 100 hp), but has some distinctive weaknesses. Antimatter, mainly.
An old combo already, but deadly nonetheless. And really, Dark Age always makes me think on Inquisition. :)
