Are you seriously saying that you see no advantage in designing your deck after everyone else has posted theirs?

Yes. I'm seriously saying that the advantage is non-existant.  It exists in some player's heads, but it's not actually going to affect the results of the tournament at all.  If people want to delay signup because they seriously believe an evil genius cares about their specific deck enough to counter it, that's their choice, but it's not actually going to happen.  As previously stated, even if someone bothers to try, they're basically asking for average results, because the chances they'll get 1 or more opponents that are in the 50% they didn't design to beat are pretty darn high, actually.

This does, of course, assume that players are smart enough to look at the other decks their team is registering and play something different enough to not fall to the same counter-deck.  Maybe that's a bad assumption on my part.
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

Let me put it this way..

What if team US players (for example 12) all posted their decks first?

What if then all team World players could look and study at ALL those 12 decks: how many permanents team US has has, do they use poison, what kind of creatures they have, etc. and only after that design their decks.

Can't you really see the HUGE advantage in that? I mean the difference is seeing your potential opponents decks beforehand, or not seeing them. :)

But since this not a "serious" event, I'll leave it to that. we'll see what happens I guess.

maybe you could add a hide-function to this forum (so only ppl with permission can see it), and remove the hidden decks then when signup is over.

btw, sign me up for others, ill post deck when im ready with testing :)

USA VS. THE WORLD

Rules:

  • Each player will submit a decklist (via the On-board Deck Generator (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,5036.0.html)), and a 'sideboard' of exactly 10 cards and 1 different mark (also submitted via a second Deck Generator shot.)  Decks may be altered between rounds only by substituting cards (1 for 1, no adding or subtracting) and mark from the sideboard. Yes, this means that everyone knows what everyone else is going to play before the game starts.  Once posted, a decklist cannot be altered except to upgrade cards on your existing decklist.  Anyone caught breaking this rule will be kicked out of the tournament.

Then I apologize for rescinding from the tournament, as the deck posted was never the one I intended to use.
