Survive as the ultimate card designer in this unique Card-Design PvP format!
MAIN RULES:- Before the Tournament begins, members are first asked to sign-up for the competition. A maximum of 32 players can sign-up; surplus players -might- be able to substitute for players who drop out, but this latter part only applies to the first round(s).
- The Tournament is organized in a single-elimination format. Each round, participants are seeded against one another (brackets will be provided) and given a royalty-free piece of artwork to design a card concept. The artwork cannot be modified in any way, shape, or form.
- Starting from the first round, there will be a special set of requirements to what the card does or how it must behave. (i.e. - the card cannot deal direct damage to the player/the card must be of the element X, etc.)
- Participants post their card ideas in the Card Idea Competition Submissions sub-board, located here: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,232.0.html
During each new 'round', they must post their cards in the EXACT topic they started. See the format of how to do this here:
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,36746.0.html - All cards are then accumulated in the voting phase; each of the 'card battles' are shown on display in a single post, with a poll for each 'card battle' (every two cards in a 'duel' has a poll with two options). Members are then asked to vote for either idea from the two card ideas that are competing against one another. Cards that fit the requirements accurately and are innovative will generally succeed; ones that don't will generally fail and will most likely be dropped.
- Once the winners of that round are declared, the seeding is repeated and new art assigned, with different limitations for the round and new polls. This process repeats until there is only one left standing...
- ...and the winner will get a (semi) customized award icon for their efforts!
Because this is the second Card Design War, there is a new twist on the entire tournament scheme; because we are currently being reigned by Death, there is a new part to the entire competition:
Ghosts.
WHAT/WHO ARE GHOSTS?- You! ...Well, if you lose. Every round, the losers of each match-up automatically become a 'ghost' upon losing.
- As a ghost, you have a skill called 'Curse'. After the voting phase is over, and the winners are announced, the 'ghosts' may then choose to inflict a 'Curse' on their challenger. Note that in order to continue haunting your opponent in your ghost form, you must guess how many votes they will have in their match-up against their new opponent; if you are within 2 votes of their total, you may continue haunting. Otherwise, the organizer will cast an exorcism and remove all ghosts that round who fail to guess within the number of votes of their targeted opponent.
- Curse: For the following turn, you may curse your opponent's match-up by adding an additional requirement for their card from a selection of requirements that the organizer will provide. These additional requirements are not as specific as the round requirements, but can often add more complexity to the card designing process for your opponent.
- If you do not 'Curse', you can still choose to 'guess' your opponent's estimated number of votes for the following turn to continue 'watching over them'. If you don't provide a guess for the votes however, you will be exorcised automatically.
- Ghost Phase:
- Curse (guess how many votes your target will have next round) -> Select an additional requirement for your target
Will you be the Card Making Master? Or just a Card Creating Disaster?
NOTE: Xenocidius'/Planplan's Card Image Builder is found here: http://elements.xenocidius.com/card/
I will not penalize users who forget to post their tables, but not doing so can affect who will vote for your card if the format of your cards are poorly formatted and explained messily.

WHEN VOTING
Please try to vote on the following two factors:
50% how well the card fits with the given art and theme
50% how original the card idea is in terms of execution
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (FINAL ROUND):
Fullfill 8 of the following requirements in your card; you may choose whichever ones to fulfill, but please note them in your card NOTES section upon completion!
- The NAME of either card cannot have more than 11 letters in it (spaces and punctuation aren’t counted). For example, Nymph’s Tears is acceptable (11 letters), but Elite Crusader is not (13 letters).
- The NAME of either card should not include any color, element, the words ‘Improved/Elite’, or types of gemstone.
- The NAME of one of the cards needs to start and end with a vowel (the vowel doesn’t need to be the same).
- Both of the card’s NAMES should include at least 3 letters of the author’s name in them. (Ex: Kuroaitou -> Kite | Elite Kite, where ‘K’, ‘I’, and ‘T’, are in both names). Numbers may act as wildcards, underscores and other symbols are to be ignored.
- Both the unupped and upgraded card forms must have different mechanics UNLESS it’s an Other card.
- The COST of both cards must be an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7).
- The COST of either card must be half or double the other (4 :death -> 2 :death, or 3 :light -> 6 :light). Round up for odd numbers (i.e. – 5 :time -> 3 :time, or 4 :aether -> 7 :aether).
- The COST of your UPGRADED card has to be a multiple of your previous round’s votes, unless it was a prime number. (Example: If you got 20 votes on your last cards, the cost of your current card must be 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, or 20 – if it was a prime number such as 17, this rule can be ignored.)
- The COST of your unupped card has to be equal to the total number of votes you have accumulated throughout this entire competition, divided by 10. (Round up or down if necessary – for example: if you have 37 total votes, divide it by 10, and you have 3.7 or ‘4’ for the COST)
- If the card is a creature, it cannot have ‘0’ for either stat (ATK nor HP cannot equal 0).
- If the card is a creature, it must be able to target another creature OR a permanent.
- If the card is a creature, it must be from one of the following elements: :aether, :darkness, :light, :air, other
- If the card is a creature, it must be able to either provide healing OR apply a status effect (either something new or something in-game like adrenaline/momentum/infection) to a target.
- If the card is a permanent, it must provide a bonus to creatures of the same element.
- If the card is a permanent, it must be from one of the following elements: :earth, :fire, :entropy, :water
- If the card is a permanent, its ability must either be triggered via its destruction (removal) OR it requires stacking.
- If the card is a spell, it must either deal damage and/or healing to a creature and/or player.
- If the card is a spell, it must be from one of the following elements: :life, :gravity, :death, :time
- If the card is a spell, it must grant an ability to a creature (i.e. – Liquid Shadow, Acceleration, Mitosis) OR it must affect all creatures on a field/both player fields (Rain of Fire, Pandemonium, Luciferin)
Match-ups (FINAL ROUND):
NOTE: PLEASE CLICK ON THE CARD IDEA AND READ THE 'NOTES' SECTION if you have problems deciphering which requirements each pair of cards fulfilled!
Drake_XIV & TheManuz - CANNOT USE 'T, N, OR S' IN CARD NAME!

ROUND 4 voting has now ended! Check the spoiler below OR the following link for what you should do if you lost (i.e. - became a ghost). Have fun, and again, please ask questions if you're confused: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,36747.msg492759#msg492759
GHOST PHASE:
BOO!
Round 4 is now over; the losers of the Round 4 have now become ghosts. All other ghosts of Round 3 have been 'exorcised' (now no longer part of the game). Check the brackets to see your standings!
Because of Death's reign, the fallen have now become temporary ghosts to haunt their victorious enemies! Players that have lost who still wish to participate in the Card Design War (as a ghost) must do these two things:
- Guess how many votes their opponent will receive the following turn
- Choose from one of the following 'Curses' that the opponent must also deal with the following turn
- Elemental Fury) The winner’s card CANNOT be one of the following elements (name 4 elements):
- Species Taboo) The winner’s card CANNOT be of the following card type (creature, spell, or permanent):
- Naming Blight) The winner's card CANNOT have the following 3 letter consonants (not vowels!) in their name (name 3 letters):
Example:
I'm guessing that zanzarino will get 1 vote the following turn.
Naming Blight: X, Q, Z
Post your 'Curse' on this topic before the deadline ends, otherwise, sit back and congratulations to all the players who won!
