Anyone think this competition is set up to show players that the elements are actually balanced and that even though decks are good, everything is perfect the way it is. Example: Mono-light is usually looked down upon and mono-darkness is usually on a pedestal, yet mono-light might win.

The one it think could be close is the mono-life vs mono-death seeing as both are very powerful pvp decks (adrenaline vs poison rush)

Oh

@ ohmega, you could just splash light, right? I remember reading the rules and it saying that you can pick any mark you want. A light mark would ensure 2 life quant aper turn instead of just 1. (double mark = halfway to FG)

Jeah, but a rustler has not much life. He only has to poison it and then he gets a skelton and a boneall piece for cheap.
Unfortunally I don't have the time to grind for rares, so my deck will be completly unupped, but that doesn't meean you can take light on me.

BS, just do some Drain Life burner. Holy Flash is only useful when you have creatures, right? Devourers, burrow them or not, Pillars, Drain Life to the...

Reflective Shield. Shit. Forge it.

BS is doomed and xdude will win with a finger up his nose and arm tied to back, having a serious hangover and some other hampers.

Fate Egg + Fate = Win
Tell me this awesome creature that has the ability destroy. Oh wait. There isn't one :).
Who said anything about destroying. Surely there is another way as well?
There IS momentum and you could (in theory) crack a fate egg to create a Fallen Elf that mutates one of your creatures into a mutant with the ability "destroy". I can calculate the odds for you if I have some spare time the next days :p

Uhm, how is he supposed to mutate, when he only have time quantas...

sorry, haven't been keeping up totally on this, but i have a few questions:

1) have you thought about having an overall tourney, instead of single elimination?
basically, everyone fights 3 matches against each other opponent, the highest win% goes on, tiered for maybe 12/8/4/2 or 12/4/2...that way you get to see which mono is actually best, not just which is best against its counterpart.

2) are you still allowing upped cards? if so, does everyone have access to entire upped decks? if not, then maybe everyone should be given a new account only for this competition, each having 6 of each upped card along with 20 or so towers + upped others...otherwise maybe everyone should use un-upped cards only.

These would even out the playing field, as you want to know which element(s) is(are) best, not just who has the best cards in their stock. However, it still doesn't account for bad play, but there's really no way to stop that.

Well, this tournament is not supposed to be "fair". It's more about testing how opposing elements cope against each other and how Master deal with difficult situations.

I will say this again on the record: I don't think ANY of the elements has a big disadvantage against the opposing element. All elements have different strategies they can use, and since this is a card game, luck also plays a part.

Upgraded cards are allowed.

Masters should already have upgraded cards in their own element, and even if they don't, they have over two weeks to collect them. If a Master loses because the the other guy has more upgraded cards, the Master can only blame himself for it.

In the future you have to have a fully upgraded deck to even apply for a Masters position. I'm not requiring it now because this whole thing is new.

Lol, I have some upgraded cards but not a whole bunch because they actually cost more. I really don't want to get bogged down on missing quanta, working on my pillars now :P
