Card Design Competition! - Mythology

Many majestic creatures (the peculiar Gargoyle, the undying Phoenix, the agile Wyrm, etc.) have been tamed by the Elementals, but more are waiting in the wild, waiting to be challenged...

Objective: Design a card that is based in real-world mythology (don't use a fictional source for inspiration!).


Rules:

• Your card -must- be based on mythology based in any of the real world's cultures. For example, the mythical 'Ho-Oh' creature from pokemon is fictional, and thus cannot be used as a source of inspiration. The Phoenix, on the other hand, is a mythical creature that stems (mainly) from Persian mythology.
• Use this link as a potential tool in helping you find information regarding cultural histories and folklore: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,13883.0.html   (YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE THAT LINK FOR INFORMATION REGARDING MYTHOLOGY)
• Cite the link that provided you the information for your creature in your submission (in the NOTES section of the table or at the end of the post)
• You may choose to design any type of card (creature, spell, or permanent)
• Please avoid using copyrighted artwork unless you had permission from the artist to use it.

*Try to avoid making cards that are already implemented and/or related to a card in game (Phoenix, Basilisk Blood, all the Nymphs/Dragons, Wyrm, Gargoyle, Pharaoh, etc.)

I'm not sure if I'll participate, but I do have a clarifying question: Are cryptids valid entries, since they are folklore (related to mythology)? Examples inlcude the Yeti, Chupacabra, and Jersey Devil.

You need to cite the source of the image, and you have to be able to use it(either from copyright privileges or permission from the owner) Same image usage rules apply here as they normally would.

@ET: No, you must use the regular template since the winner will be going straight to the crucible. It's stated in the rules to cite the source in the additional information area.

Just my little tip if one is having trouble finding a cool mythological creature, look at the creatures in Heroes of Might and Magic III: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/63965-heroes-of-might-and-magic-iii/faqs/35231

Sure, it's a little hard to read through, but a lot of creatures, including the Naga, Manticore, and Medusa, are all used in the game.

Centaur is mine. Meh, my idea wasn't too great. After seeing one card in particular that was just too awesome, I'm giving up early here and rooting for it. If anyone liked the concept at all, feel free to borrow it (prefferably not for this competition, just in general)

ART: ***Insert artist name*** IDEA: DrunkDestroyer NOTES: Based off the idea that Centaurs are peaceful, forest creatures who love each other and want the best for everyone. Fits in the life element, works pretty well with Mitosis. The skill is active, since he's actively healing, not just casually radiating waves of butterlies and health.
