I should do what others seem to do and lay chunks of background color first. Spray paint's not very good for subtle work, although it does work better shrunken down.

Man I chose a highly detailed card but I had fun with it. Wasn't able to get any shading, gradation, spray paint or any cool effects as I spent most of the time just trying to do the shape... I may update later.


ALSO, I LOVE this competition. It doesn't take hours of my time to enter so I did it right when I read it.

More time limited competitions, please!

Well, I'm way happier with this one than I thought I would be!  Got the last few major details in just before my timer went off.  Dang, that was fun, especially under the time pressure.  Kind of makes me want to do more cards, but I assume we're only allowed one submission?

This is why I asked pepokish to use normal insect wings instead of the ones the scarab has, no offence.

Some nice picutres (for 5 minutes and MSPain), some that make you go "... what is that?", and some that have odd things in them (like mrblonde's mummy looks like it's giving someone the finger)
