Justification for overlap with Lobotomy is still needed. [It is closer to lobotomy than mutate by miles even with the change.]

I am not sure of the answer that is being sought here.
I think this almost completely transforms a creature.
I think this would a good addition to death's arsenal of necromancy spells/skills.
I think it adds creature generation to death and gives them greater control over their field.
I would most likely only use this on my own creatures.
I think this would work very well in time\necromancy deck.

I think a good strategy with this is:
use a free/or cheap creature Example: Photon it would become a 2|2 Zombie; player wants a more powerful creature, so rewind it, but first transform a second creature. if player doesn't get what they wanted re-transform creature and try again.

Edit: Rutarete and I have been discussing this and he said answer this:
What can this do that Lobotomy can't? And how is that better?
My answer: This makes the creature an undead, adds a small buff, there's no lobotomy like spell currently in death element.
This makes the undead passive more versatile; and the more ways there are to utilize this in ETG the better.

That is all I can think of ATM.

Having a viral skill would be the way to represent Zombies.
However the viral lobotomy effect needs to be removed or justified.

A solution: Make the Zombie skill not very useful as a lobotomy effect.

For the reasons I explained above, I prefer the original (spell) version. What if it was: "Target a non-undead creature. The creature's skill is now  :death :death :death: Zombify. Kills the creature if not activated."

Similar to aflatoxin but instead of malignant cells it turns creatures into zombies. Fits with zombie theme of infection and warrants the lobotomy since the creature has to die first.

This is a pretty good idea, even if it goes through a new creature. However, I wonder if the 2 poison is really necessary....

Maybe just 1 poison, but yeah, zombies do breed by infection, so some amount of poison damage is called for.  Maybe just call it Infection and throw up a red symbol on it, kind of like Neurotoxin stacks with Poison and turns that icon yellow.

This would work if carefully balanced vs Parasite.
