Walking liger is overpowered i mean already without the effect for 5 life quanta a 7/7 creature?
Well, Water has 4 quanta for a 6/6, and Life is supposed to be better than Water at creatures, so 5 quanta for a 7/7 is UP without a minor ability attached to it. 8)
well but crawler has absoulutly no effect the effect off this  creature is awesome (for no cost and as passive)

It's not passive.  Yawning Liger's ability is passive.  This ability is active, and really not all that awesome.  You're almost entirely dependent on your opponent to hurt it without killing it -- and why would he do that?

I'm confused.  Why is the upgraded version vastly better than the unupgraded?  The stats are the same in both versions, but the unupped one doesn't attack almost half the time, and the upped one gets buffs from damage too!

The unupgraded version is balanced against a Cockatrice - it costs a little more, has 3 more HP, and hits for .2 damage more per round (taking the sleeping into account). 

The upgraded version is balanced against an Abyss Crawler -- it costs a little more, so it has slightly better stats, and it's Life, not Water, so it's has a little something extra to represent Life's tendency toward better creatures than any other element.

Yes, but that's comparing apples to oranges.  Comparisons aside, the upgrade gives roughly +3 ( 2.8 ) to attack and a good ability for only +1 to cost.
On average for Life so far, an upgrade gets 2 stat points without increasing its cost.  It seems and extra +1 cost for each 2.5 stats given.  Now +3 attack would be a +1 cost, but the extra ability should bump it up to a +2 cost at least.  Perhaps +3 depending on how good the ability is.
