This card differs from standard pillars in 2 main ways:
1) As mentioned before, it could allow multiple uses of cards that consume all quanta of a type. This could cause balancing issues. Sadly, not because this card is too powerful, but because that mechanic is often used to balance out other cards that are. Sky-Blitz being a prime example since multiple attack doubling effects can produce extremely large amounts of damage very quickly.
2) A less abusive use is as a counter to denial cards / decks. E.g. if facing a scramble-blackhole or devour-fractal deck, this card can be used to safely store quanta so that the enemy can't absorb it.
One method to prevent abuse would be to only allow use before any cards are played each turn.
As a note on balance here, this card is probably a bit overpriced. Considering it is essentially a timeable pillar, it could stand to have a much lower cost. Probably 1 or zero.
I would say just drop the casting cost altogether. You could maybe keep a 1
or 1
cost on the upped version to balance the more rapid generation, but it may be even be ok with a zero cost as well.
Finally, given how closely this cards mechanics resemble a pillar, it could even stand to be considered an "alternate pillar" (e.g. no limit on number per deck, susceptible to E.Q.)
I think I may have seen something similar to this concept before, but I'll have to look around.
Its a little on vanilla side, but having another card to help cope with denial strategies (aside from sanctuary) could make a useful addition as long as it won't get abused with multi-blitz.
