How about not?  Here's the tradeoff:

Two guaranteed quanta every turn.
No more than six in a deck.

Sound good?

Or how about some pillar upgrades that give one quanta when it comes into play and then another color per turn?

I can see this being a nice alternative in some decks with Entropy quanta on drop, then Time quanta each turn.

Sigh

That actually sounds pretty reasonable. It makes sense too, seeing as how all of the pillars had to come from somewhere, and it would make sense if some of them in between "mining areas" had pieces of the otherpillars on them. We could probably even put that in the story if Zan put it in the game...

Maybe normal versions could be the splash version (one of a different kind when comes into play) and the upped could be truly dual (one of each, or only one of either).

An idea for introducing these cards: combine two towers (upgraded pillars) to get a dual pillar.  Then you can upgrade the dual pillar to a dual tower in the normal way.

That's an excellent idea, and fits the flavor of the game. As Elementals, we should be able to have power over the elements like that.

A month old-bump, but with good thoughts. It would be a fun dynamic to have upgrades that require two cards.

Just a random thought - Shouldn't the fire-water one be alcohol, not oil? And, yes, I do know there is more than one type of alcohol, it just seems more watery than oil, which is all gloopy and sticky.

i like the idea of it being splash from the start, and then upgraded it being set 2. but if you have it be set gain 2 then maybe add a 2 quanta cost (one of each) or at least a one quanta cost.

No.  You set it, you get 2.  Every turn, you get 2.

Considering you get 3 from quanta tower, there's nothing wrong here.

Yes there is. Quantum towers/pillars are OP (in my mind), and they're random. Imagine being able to produce TWO of two elements that you KNOW you will get. I do not approve.

Instead, I like the idea that you have a 50/50 chance of each type every turn, and you gain only 1 quantum each turn.
