What I meant was if you played SoR on tuatara. SoR is a spell itself, when Tuatara gain the ability to use the SoR ability, would it cost 3 or 0?

Aha I see.

Tuatara and Taniwha only copy your opponents spells. (Wove: The last spell used by your opponent becomes Taniwha’s active ability until used. Spells quanta use is now :aether) therefore unless your opponent plays SoR on your Tuatara no.

The thing is he could be using SoR on his own creture therefore if it was the last spell he used then yes you would copy SoR for a single use.

Ok so Activating Unstable Gas at the moment is a spell therefore yes you could copy it.

The key here is it is the last spell your opponent plays so if you are the opponent for heavens sake play some benign spell after your good ones. Remembering Wove is unusable until the current spell is used.

So I made new artwork for this card and hopefully it is a bit more fitting. If anyone can point me to a tutorial on reptile skin for photoshop that would be awesome.

Thanks

CURATOR COMMENT

To get to the Crucible

- Change the Element in the table to "Aether" instead of the icon. Just so people know the icon :aether means "Aether Quanta" and is not interchangable with Aether the element.
- There is a Disparity between the text in the table and Tuatara's card image.

Questions / Comments / Suggestions

I enjoy that Australia and New Zealand have the greatest mix match of creatures in the world.
Tuatara is a surf dwelling Lizard (the only rhynchocephalian left in existance I believe) and Taniwha is a Legendary water dragon/spirit right, so why go with Aether?

Ok so I have fixed both those areas. I am hoping some artist out there will give me some tips or a tutorial link to help do the art better next time.

Tuatara yes is a surf dwelling reptile as well as most Taniwha are water based (not all though). I went with Aether for several reasons:

 1. Aether is low on creatures at the moment.
 2. Aether has Twin Universe which is similar in ways to the Ability here.
 3. Aether seems to be spell based so I chose that.

These were some of the reasons.

Thanks

Hey the art is great! Good job.

I don't know any tutorials and don't have photoshop myself so I can't say :(. In Gimp I would try adding a textured canvas to the coloring and then add some noise. There has to be some kind of option that will give you a bumpy feeling in photoshop...

Had to quote this. Sorry.

This card really seems like it could be in the game. It is just borderline OP in the right situations (but so is Mind gate, Fractal and probably even quintessence).
Even though (after some research) the original Tuatara shouldn't be in  :aether, this ability fits with it perfectly. Its abstract, but solid. Much less random than  :entropy, and not something that would be found in  :water or  :life.

This is one of the most original and fitting with the theme of elements, and the theme of aether.
I will support this card to the Armory.
