NOTES:
The edges refer to the 12 spaces lining the left and right borders of the creature playing field. Any creatures already residing in those spots cannot attack but may use skills. Further creatures may not be summoned on those squares that are obstructed by Trench.

When Flooding is used, only the middle three squares remain un-flooded.

Thinking of adding a upkeep cost, but unsure of the quanta balancing at the moment.

Maybe make it cost 1 :earth for each creature in the trench?

No, but your motivations are correct.

It seems a bit OP with the cost, as you are effectively limiting to removing two-thirds of their field. For just 3  :earth | 2 :earth? Nerf please.

I don't know if this would be too much of a nerf, but what about making airborne creatures immune to trench?  If I had wings, I'm pretty sure a trench wouldn't stop me :)

airborn creatures arent immune to flood, which should be a given.
