NOTES:
Discard Pile Series

The new 'Salvage' ability (coming in 1.32) suggests that the game now keeps a record of what has been destroyed/used, i.e. a 'discard pile'. The D.P. Series seeks to explore creative and thematically appropriate usage of this new mechanism for each Element.

Clarification of Card Ability

Upon playing Transcendence, the player's discard pile (with Transcendence as the top card, since it was the last to be used) and the player's deck will switch places.
It is possible to make repeated use of the same spells/destroyed permanents/destroyed creatures by switching back and forth between the two piles of cards.

Examples of Use

Ball Lightning + Transcendence = Reusable Ball Lightning

Thunderbolt + Transcendence = Very reliable creature-control

Destroyed Permanent/Creature + Transcendence = Permanent restoration/Creature Revival

Silence + Transcendence + Hourglass = Absolute silence

Transcendence + Otyugh + Snack = Om nom nom

Transcendence + >3 :aether quanta/turn + Hourglass + >2 :time qanta/turn + Miracle + >15 :light quanta/turn: Immortality...
SERIES:
Discard Pile Series

Issues to be addressed:

- Some combos (such as with Miracle) maybe be OP.

- Anti-deck-out ability is a much-too-strong side effect.

I would hold off on making such an idea until such an addition is made.

I don't agree. It's just that; an idea. And now, an idea that could be right around the corner.

Actually, I imagine there won't be a discard pile, but a stack the keeps track of destroyed permanents

There's a card limit of 6 for a reason, you know. Any card that bypasses that limit (Fractal, Mindgate) should be costly (Fractal) or hard to plan around (Mindgate). This costs 3 :aether.

Actually, I imagine there won't be a discard pile, but a stack the keeps track of destroyed permanents

Also, this. And if "salvaging" works as I understood, the game might only keep track of the last permanent destroyed rather than keeping a list of cards destroyed.

It would likely be a list as it would be possible to salvage multiple permanents, not doing a list would mean duplicating permanents.

In all seriousness, this is a very late game card as it stands. Even modified to be a processional redrawing thing, it's still inaccessable until you've discarded at least one card.

That being said.

Consider a combo with a card similar to Ghost of the Past, where dealing you or your opponent damage is made indefinite by this card. Or you might gain quanta or health or some other benefit.

A truly appreciable concept for this game.

What if Salvage works as a single use ability that makes permanents go back to the deck/hand if they are used while '' Salvager is on the field?  Wouldn't that change the concept?

That's why I propose holding off until we actually see how the idea is implemented.  Otherwise, it will just lead to potentially more ideas regarding adding new systems to the game.  E.g. a Discard Pile/Graveyard, Removed From Play, Side Decks, etc.  Personally, I'd like to see ideas that can be implemented into the current game before changes.
