Not sure why you would have to remove layers, but, in Gimp, i can't be 100% sure, but you might be able to just select multiple layers and then hit delete.

I tried to use your superb ''.psd'' file with gimp 2.6.
Unfortunately, layers texts are interpreted as images. Therefore, I can not edit the text. I am obliged to make a new text layer.

But, it's cool  :)

That's weird. I was under the impression that Gimp can open PSD files without any problems.

I'll install it myself when I have time and see what the problem is. Maybe even do a tutorial or something.

For a long time I installed the 2.6 version and I do not remember me such a question.
I check the site http://www.gimp.org/ (http://www.gimp.org/) and there is a new version 2.7. On the news page http://developer.gimp.org/NEWS (http://developer.gimp.org/NEWS) I read this:
Quote
Map the 'Linear Dodge' layer mode in PSD files to the 'Addition' layer mode in GIMP.
I'll update my version, re-test and i'll keep you informed.

EDIT: Version in line is 2.6.8. I'll check with this.

With GIMP 2.6.8 the problem is identical. The text layers are interpreted as images layers.

I may not understand your question.
Gimp does not open in native PSD files. You must tell to your operating system to open ''psd'' files with gimp.
Or in Gimp,  when you open the menu ''file/openning'' in the windows ''opening file'' select the otpion ''all files'' in drop-down menu.

I have a question. How can I change the name, the decription and the number of the cost?
You need to make a new layer text

Question to Scaredgirl
What is the font name for text, and the number?
and what is the sign (vertical bar) beetween each number?

I tried Gimp.

While it did open the Photoshop file, the results were pretty horrible. Instead of having everything nicely in folders like in Photoshop, Gimp decided to get rid of the layers and just throw everything on a big pile of layers.

You can probably do the card in Gimp as well but it's going to be much more difficult.

I really recommend everyone to use Photoshop. There's a one month free trial version available.

I used Arial because everyone has it. The real Elements font is a different one (forgot the name).

Copy paste one of these: |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

From your file "elements_card_templates_v2.2.1.psd'', I created a Gimp file ''.xcf "
File dowload --> http://flodes.free.fr/elements/elements_card_templates_v2.2.1.xcf (http://flodes.free.fr/elements/elements_card_templates_v2.2.1.xcf)

I created 7 text layers and deleted the 6 layer images corresponding.
Only 6 because I divided the layer ''Card Description'' in 2. One for card description and one for ability name.

Name of 7 texts layers:
- Card Name in Withe
- Card Name in Black
- Card Cost
- Card type creature
- Ability Name
- Card Description
- Art by: Artist Name

It would be nice if you could check my changes
