NOTES:
This is played as a normal weapon, except it is played in your opponent's weapon slot.  Because of this, even if the opponent has an immaterial weapon, this will take the place of it.  Once successfully cast, the opponent then becomes the owner of the card.  Anything that would target the weapon itself, not the weapon slot, will destroy Sword of Damocles and deal damage to the player controlling it.  And yes, I'm already aware of the possible Crusader / Sword of Damocles combo...in my opinion, Light needs buffing.
I am looking for original art for this card; if you are interested, let me know.

The opponent.  I needed the space, so I used a synonym.

Looks nice, I love the idea. Although I'm not sure if the theme fits light the best. Either way, seems like a good card.

Just thought I would say something, not just about this card. At least in my opinion, shields and weapons are some of the least likely cards because each element currently has only one weapon and at most two shields. Just thought I'd say that designing a series of twelve weapons would probably be the best bet at getting them in the game.

Back on this card. I want it. :)

I put it in Light because the story was about what it was really like to be a king.  While the innate goodness of the king in question may be in doubt, the typical connotation of a king is majestic, regal, and good...which fits Light the best.  Besides, as I put in notes, Light needs buffing.

I understand the name fitting in with light but by theme I meant what the card actually does. Sorry for the confusion.

Actually light has three shields: solar shield, mirror shield and hope.

Back on topic: you reflected my opinion pretty well, since I am also concerned whether light is a suitable element here, since direct damage or cards with negative effects for the owner don't fit the mechanic of light. For now, I would recommend darkness for this, since it has some sort of "reversed steal" integrated.

Thanks for catching my mistake.
And I would love this in darkness. Of course the name would probably have to change.

Oty wouldn't be able to do anything with this, currently.  Flying Weapon would immediately trigger the effect, meaning it would never be a creature.

There are other mechanics that are spread through different elements, and there's really no reason that, if it fits thematically, shouldn't cross over.  For instance. direct damage already exists in Fire, Darkness, Water, & Air. In addition, there are currently active ideas that do direct damage in both Entropy and Death that I can think of just off the top of my head.  Plus, Light is kind of lacking on how it can hurt the opponent.  Right now, all it can do is heal and do a bit of creature damage.  No poison, no direct damage, no hard or soft CC (with the possible exception of Holy Flash), no hard or soft PC, no quanta denial...if one accepts the notion that Light can only heal, defend, and use creatures, then they will continue to be behind in balance compared to the other elements.  I'd like to see other winning Light strategies than RoL/Hope.

I made a card like this. It went down well until it got to voting where it died horribly.
Better luck with yours.
