One of my favorite ideas from the Concept Crypt! The mechanical aspect is almost similar to Gravity Pull (that is, a 100000 attack creature must still kill a 10 HP creature with Gravity Pull before affecting your HP).

Still, the way you relate it to Horcruxes, the name, and its overall theme seems more fitting in Death. Also, maybe it would be better as an actual shield?

Soul shatter sounds like :death. It can fit for :life, you just have to make a name that has a more positive connotation. Maybe "soul divide"? still sounds sorta dark though.

Hmm...if you want to deviate from the whole splitting theme for the name then you could give the card the exact same effect but name it something like Soul Guard or Soul Barrier instead.  However, I feel like that leans towards it needing to become a shield to fit the name a bit too far.

Spirit Shield/Guard/Barrier would be appropriate were it a shield. And I personally see no reason for it not to be a shield.

I'd like it to be in :life, but the name is for :death.

It looks to me like a Bonewall - you have 10 walls (excluding Hp increasing scenarios), each of which has 10 Hp. You still lose the walls by being attacked, but to gain walls you have to heal, which is much more a Life thing than Death. Hence my reasoning why it should be in life.

Questions:
Do the walls go away one per turn, or any number in one turn?

So Heal (card) is 2 :life - that's 2 walls, but is it just 2 walls or two turns?
Same question for Empathetic Bond and others.If one per turn, it seems OP to me.
If any number in a turn, it seems as good as Bonewall.

Compounded with Thorn Carapace is... I don't know. But given the similarities to Bonewall, I think it should be a shield.
It is the greatest mystery of all...

This card was intended only as a guard to defend an 11+ ATK from smacking you around easily. With this card, all that's meant to happen is that if 3 Crimson Dragons attack you in 1 turn, your health will go down by 10, 10 and 10. If your health was at 47 as an example, it would go down to 40, then to 30 then to 20, only because of where your HP is initially at.

It's a confusing concept at first and then makes sense if you view your HP in a different way. Instead of looking at it like

[______________100______________],

you view it as

[10][10][10][10][10][10][10][10][10][10]

Looking at it in this way you can easily see that you can't affect one group without taking out the one in front of it first. So yes, more than 1 group can be affected per turn, as long as you take out more than 10HP with more than 1 creature.


On a side note, I didn't want to make this card a shield only because, thematically it definitely doesn't seem like a shield, and second of all because the cost of the card makes it a well balanced defensive card for :life Life but could work in cooperation with shields.

:life Life much like :air Air has a subtle theme which hasn't quite been fully developed. Both :life Life and :air Air need more cards to enhance their themes, whether they be proliferation, health or airborne creatures. :life Life having health manipulation alongside healing is where I think its power could lie. In much the same way that some other elements have clear and thorough niches such as pure destruction *coughfirecough* an element such as :life Life simply needs cards to complement niches.

I don't think having this card with alongside a shield would be too much, considering that you're focusing a lot of your deck in order to become :life Life-defensive, which :life Life, I've read, can't pull off quite well. If you guys still think it should be a shield though, a shield it shall be.

I'm not certain that it should be a shield or not, but if it was to be a shield then it could perhaps be balanced by being stackable with itself. It was an idea that came to mind but other than taking up the shield slot I see little balance for it. Namely, that for each extra one you have onto the field the 'fragments' get smaller by 1, down to 5 for 6 on the field. (To prevent fragments getting down to silly numbers in FG decks) That way if you have 2 in your shield slot your hp is fragmented into bits of 9, if you have 3 it is fragmented into bits of 8, and so on. Not sure if that idea would be viable without a cost increase if it wouldn't go into the shield slot, or if it would only be balanced down to perhaps fragments of 8.
