Not sure if it hasn't been done before.
"Disable" is tentatively the same as "delayed". The shield is affected, not the shield slot, so playing new shields will refresh the delay. All shield effects of a disabled shield are nullified (except maybe permanence counters), including damage reduction.

Not sure on the thematic here, how does a spear wielder disable a shield? If you're thinking Dragoons ala Final Fantasy they Jump over defenses, not really disable them.

Mechanic is okay I guess, feels a little OP. Im assuming that this effect does affect immaterial shields as well?

I'm aware of other types of Dragoons. My favorite game is Legend of Dragoon, in which Dragoons are nothing like in Final Fantasy. My point still stands. Whether a high jumping lance wielder, a mounted soldier, a person who becomes part dragon, or something else in this category I still do not see the connection with temporarily making the enemy shield disabled.

Spears are designed for penetration. Spearmen are supposed to be the frontline spearmen that charge into battle and break the enemy's defensive formation, and the Dragoon in the upgraded card is meant to just be a better spearman.

seems odd, give one of these momentum and it essentially gives all creatures momentum.  i know you could say "but pc skills/abilities/spells can destroy shields, too", but then you have to take into account that this affects immaterial shields and the effect will be reapplied to new shields (ie if phase shield is played, nullified, and then played again, it will again be nullified, and so on and so forth.

and why did you choose light?

First, 1 turn of delay each time the shield is passed at the end of the opponent's turn, so only the creatures after Spearman "gain momentum".
Hm...you're right, it does seem a bit too powerful. Maybe I should add a success-rate, or something less RNG-oriented like "on every second attack"? Don't know the theme, though..
I think that if the expected value of delay is less than 1 turn for one Spearman, it should be balanced. Thoughts on this assumption?
