NOTES:
- Absorbs :death each turn means it takes from your own quanta, not the enemy's
- Soul Mage's negative health ability is an active skill and can be lobotomized.  Therefore; using Acceleration will cause it to die immediately
- Death "triggers" affect Soul Mage's health.  Shrodinger's Cat, etc affect Soul Mage's health.

I do not understand how damage CC would not destroy this Mage.
I think if it had +0|+1 and 3hp that would be better.

If Skeleton can die to a Thunderstorm then all Undead should fall to sufficient Lightning Bolts.

Other than the -hp I really like and appreciate this card.

I understand.  I was trying to reason a way that it should be negative health, without forcing it to be over-complicated purely for thematic reasons.  I like the concept of negative health, although you make a good point with skeletons dying from it.

My thoughts;

thematically, this isn't just your average enchanted wad of bones (skeletons).  This guy is a Necromancer.  One who has power over the dead.  Undead.  He takes hate and destruction, and turns it into his power.  A rain of fire is his best friend.  His power grows as others die.

What he is truly afraid of, is not death, but life.  Growth.  Blessings are his curse (as in the card Blessing).  Things that grow are his fear, and ultimately, his weakness.

mechanically, it is a unique way of adding a mix to creature control.  Now your blessing or momentum or basilisk's blood can now take care of the enemy handily, as longs as its a Necromancer receiving the spell.  Now what's Necromancer good for?  Rage Potion anyone?

I may be confused but all the undead I know of (I DM D&D so thats a lot) are either undead because they failed to die or are undead to escape death. While they are immune to most things that plague the body(infection) they are still very concerned about the destruction of their bodies through conventional means (aka damage CC).

All the things the increase HP in this game so far are things that target the corporeal form and would work on inanimate objects too (if inanimate objects had hp in this game).

when i first saw this card, i said " WHOA, this is an awesome concept!"
now for more critical thoughts
1. an interesting thing is that this card goes against eclipse, which is meant to power up death/dark cards
2. i think that although there are so many ways to counter this card, that it should absorb  :death :death instead of just one. (because for the upped one, it's still 4 for something with power = to twice the cost)
3. to make it more interesting and (i think) balanced, you should have it gain +0/+1 per turn, requiring you to have a constant upkeep of death- in this case, it'd be fine just to absorb  :death

what do you think of this?

This card is awesome. Perfectly designed.

Even the concept and idea behind it is clearly reflected in it's gameplay. Only well thought cards can be like that. Art is also perfect.
My real-life sucks. So i come online to compensate that.
