ART: Essence IDEA: Essence NOTES: Water needs some way to take advantage of all of those creatures sitting there, frozen and useless, on the opponent's side of the field.  This card is synergetic with all of the freezing, but can be easily countered by a low-creature-count deck like Flying Glories OR a rainbow deck that generates far more quanta/turn than it has creatures in play. Hmm, for 3 water this counters a hgher cost life card (Bound) AND drains up to a supernova of quanta each turn... A few of these would do massive damage and prevent quanta for abilities/counters to kill it...

Plus, it has bad synergy with its own element if you think about flood?

With Malignant cells the siren is OP.

Yeah, it would stack.  And it's not OP with Aflatoxin -- Aflatoxin is slow.  Either you would out-rush an Aflatoxin/Siren deck, or you would have enough control to take out the Siren easily, or you'd out-rush it even more easily because it tried to pack Quints to deal with control.

Yeah, I also dont find it OP.

But I find it... Bad for gameplay. This card, combined with Afla, is a bit stronger than fractal devourers, but serves the same purpose. Draining quanta to make your opponent unable to play anything. Being unable to play is boring for the opponent, ruining the gaming experience.
That of course is valid only for "casual" players. As a competitive strategy, its good as any other.

By that reasoning, we shouldn't have Alfatoxin (prevents you from playing creatures), Flooding (ditto), Discord, Pests...the list goes on and on.

Only quanta draining strategy can shut you down completely so you can not do ANYTHING. Afla, flooding and discord are not even in the same category here. I think you're smart enough to see the difference.

Agreed.
Discord is randomizing the quanta, while Devourers completely destroys the quanta.
Flooding is only destroying creatures (and ) while Afla is an annoying poison card.
But, i keep loving this card

OP... Fractal this guy and its much worse than fractaling devourers. That would mean if the other player has 3 creatures and you fractal this card, up to 24 quantas are drained per turn and up to 24 life...
