This ability can only work successfully with 4 creatures or more on the board. The extra 2 damage will only hit the creatures right next to the target creature. Very useful for Swarming decks such as "RoL/Hope" or the weaker "Firefly/Hope"

I need help deciding the stats but I just wanted to get my idea out there.

Simple cool idea.

Although it is opens up more water/aether synergy, the presence of Mind flayer in game arises the question, " Whether another Water creature with Aether ability is needed ? ".

Balance-wise, it seems overpowered as it is a cheap creature with good stats/cost and a strong reusable cc which is better than lightning both unupped and upped. (might need OldTrees help).
My real-life sucks. So i come online to compensate that.

With the upgraded version you can do about 8 damages (2-4-2) for 3 :water and 1 :aether. Maybe you should raise the cost of 1|1.^^

Some maths: 2 Atk should give a +2 cost, and the ability is stronger than EE, so you should apply a +3 cost (-1 because of the duo ability).

I think the weaker one should deal 2 damage and 1 to surrounding. And the upgraded one does 4 to the target and 2 to surrounding. So the change would be the activation cost stays the same.

another thought: different names? Electric eel and Lightning eel,  electric eels are mundane and in the real world, while lightning eels would be magical :D

It only really works against the swarm decks... and the 3 health means it that my scarab + armor will still be able to eat it the instant your card is played, how about 0/4?

Agree with Nick_V on the already existing water creature with an Aether ability (in the same cost range as well).

Buffing it with flooding seems strange since Flooding already counters the spam strategy by itself, and so does this card.  Using them together would be overkill, but I'm not sure if the bonus would be effective enough to merit combination use in general.

Anywho, it works brilliantly with Flooding. My only concern is its Fractal-ability as upped.
