8 psychical damage = 8 damage dealt by creatures?
If yes, it's overprized a lot. :/
If no, i don't understand wording on this card. xd

Why Aether?
Sure, let's give it another way to dodge physical attacks.
Wouldn't use this over dimensional shield in any situation.
Try moving it to gravity or earth. Thematically, it gives you enough strength to hold off some attacks.
Also since it depletes, try making it immaterial. It only lasts a short amount of time assuming it blocks damage from five physical sources.

EDIT: Each turn. How did I miss that. If it blocks the first five damage sources, it is overpowered. How many decks do you know that can summon over five creatures and deal sufficient damage? And please don't show me some malignant cell patience or some form of spamming. If it blocks the first five damage, again, why would I use this over any shield actually besides it's ability to block initial damage every turn? Most decks go over 5 damage.

It doesn't disappear. It blocks the first 5/8 damage dealt each turn. It 'restores' each turn.

Reduce the cost to 1 aether or so. Compare to Shard of Gratitude, Sanctuary, and similar healing cards.

Overpriced?
Considering the fact that this shield blocks, on average, a little bit more than titanium, this card is fine in terms of pricing.
It does exactly what it says; it prevents the first X damage dealt to you a turn. Not by the first X creatures, the first X damage.

So your opponent has to deal more than 5/8 damage a turn to deal at least one point of damage.
Note that titanium shield blocks about 6-8 damage a turn to my knowledge, in a pure estimate.
This cost is as powerful, and deserves the price of titanium, to my knowledge.
Why shouldn't titanium cost 1 or so, then?

Why aether?
Aether needs a shield that isn't dim shield.
Although I was considering making this a permanent that changes how shields work in life, butttt... complex.
Earth has titanium whilst gravity has armagio.
Aether has the simple "I lose or you lose depending on what elements your using" shield which I hate.

Because titanium has advantages in certain situations. If your opponent spams fireflies or scarabs, your Titanium Shield will block a lot more than 6-8 damage. This shield always blocks a fixed amount of damage, and has no advantageous situations.

But it always blocks more on average than a few other shields.
At any rate, it certainly blocks more than the common shield.

Well, that depends on how many creatures the opponent has.
Maybe make it stackable (like repulsor shield)?

Since this damage reduction is a flat amount, you could also have it block more than just physical damage. Kind of like a force field that refreshes each turn.
That would be a nice alternative to mirror shield effects which deflect all spell damage but typically are low output versus physical.

This shield would then block either but could end up being less effective when facing swarms or large numbers of small attacks.

Some possible art ideas if you want them:

(can recolor to aether)

Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
If your zombie plan is
kill -9 `ps l | awk '{print $2" "$3" "$9}' | grep "Z" | awk '{printf("%s ",$2)}'`
You might be a unix junky

I like that idea and I like arts 3 and 5.
This will block a lone Mummy, Abomination or Vampire Stiletto, unlike any damage reduction shields besides hope. It does have a few advantageous situations.

But it will only block 4 extra damage or so, which you could just counter by dropping a Sanctuary. A Sanctuary is simply always better than this.
