NAME:
Shard
ELEMENT:
Other
COST:
1
TYPE:
Spell
ATK|HP:
ABILITY:
It looks like a crystal shard. It seems to be useless, but it might be upgradable.
NAME:
Shard of Openness
ELEMENT:
Other
COST:
4
TYPE:
Permanent
ATK|HP:
ABILITY:
Both players reveal their hands while this card is in play.
ART:
Zanzarino and Scaredgirl
IDEA:
Therealtahu
NOTES:
The first thing that came to mind when I thought of openness. This is basically a two-sided precognition. With this card, you can plan ahead but so can your opponent. I'm not too sure about the cost though, it seems a bit powerful for only 5 quanta, even with the downside. This is an entry into the Shard Madness Competition.
Modifications: Lowered cost from 5 to 4. Added "while this card is in play" to the end of the ability description.

As you made it a permanent and not a spell, I understood it's a bit more than just a two-sided precognition. If I'm right, you meant that the effect should last, then I would write: "Both players reveal their hands while this card is in play.".

For the "two-sided precognition", I was referring to the effect, not to the length. I was basing the text on the other permanents that give an effect, such as eclipse. Most cards use per turn, but I only noticed one card that used "while this card is in play". I'll change it, since I didn't take into account the differences between per turn and a card that doesn't use it, such as eclipse.

5 quantum is too much for this shard.
Then what cost would be suitable for this card? I'd like some feedback.

I feel that 5 quantum is justified, since you can see the opponent's hand, even if he can see yours. I did consider 4 quantum for a while.

Looking at your oppenent's hand really doesn't help all that much, especially if they see your hand too. 2-3 quanta tops. I would even venture into 1 quantum, but that seems out of place.
